Can't these guys "own" their retirement like the rest of us?

According to the Corporate Library, a big-business watchdog firm, the five best-compensated CEOs will bring in an average of $5.5 million a year from their pensions.

The Securities and Exchange Commission is writing new rules to make companies disclose more about CEO compensation. The SEC is expected to vote on the proposal later this year.

1. Why Have Pensions at all for Them?
They should be able to put a little away from their paycheck for the future. That's the responsible attitude, right?

2. What are they getting now, per year? 10 million or more? I'd think
I'd be set for life on that kind of money, even after taxes.

3. Why not make Congress disclose its own pensions. People
would FLIP if they knew what these bastards get (which is why they don't care if they erode protections for the great unwashed).

5. Congress does disclose their own pensions
in addition -- congress members elected since 1992 gets only what any other federal employee at their paygrade recieves.

6. It's a pretty sweet deal, but not highway robbery, as

There are probably some better sites out there with more details, but this has a bit of background, and debunks the "they don't pay social security" myth too.
