MSNBC linking B*sh to Plamegate!
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 12:26 PM by npincus
MSNBC has reported the significance of Libby's testimony is that the NIE document that Libby said B*sh had authorized to be leaked contained the name and identity of Valerie Plame! Therefore, that ties B*sh to the leak of Plame's identity-- which he's on record professing no knowledge of, as well as threatening punishment to those involved.

MSNBS is the one to watch... this is the 'top' story in their line-up and are touting the investigative work of David Schuster-- they're saying that he broke the story.

Screw CNN, MSNBC is on this one. Watch "Hardball" tonite- Kerry was scheduled to be on it- and that was before this news broke. This is gong to be fun!

10. Chimp going to do the perp walk
Or the perp is going to do the chimp walk. We will very likely see the first sitting president arrested and charged with treason.

3. Libby's a liar, Bush is a liar, technically its a draw.
But I agree that this will further pound the credibility of Bush.

4. That is what I was figuring...that in the course of the Iraq leak Plame
was leaked too. So whomever you hang the Iraq leak on you'd also hang the Plame leak on.

But it is still Libby said Dick said Chimpy said leak.

7. I'd like to use a football metaphor, but I don't watch football!
They are ON this one... MSNBC's David Schuster has been consistently doing GREAT investigative journalism, on the whole pre-war intelligence / Plamegate story. MSNBC is saying that he broke this story.

This is f-ing fantastic. Let'see how the other major media play this one, or if they try to minimize it as it seems CNN is doing.

9. not in legal trouble
They bent over backwards to say "the president" is not in legal jeopardy. They said this so many times my head was spinning. Still, I was surprised to see it on.

13. Yet Libby testified that he didn't know Plame's identity until
Edited on Thu Apr-06-06 01:07 PM by Garbo 2004
Russert told him. Denied telling Judy Miller about Plame, claimed he didn't know her identity at that time, then when busted Libby said he'd forgotten he already knew. But he did say he released NIE info per authorization.

Did Shuster cite sources for his info re: what the NIE contained?

Just saw Shuster on MSNBC and he didn't mention that NIE contained Plame's identity. In this report he said it's a PR problem for the Administration that the President authorized leaks of classified info re: NIE on Iraq and to Woodward who was writing his book.
