Poll question: When will gasoline hit $3.00
My guess is 4/15/06.

Driving around today seeing it at $2.63 got me thinking that we are not too far from $3.00.

I previously guessed that it would hit $2.50 and that would be the new baseline. I was right.

The second question would be.. and worthy of another poll - when will people stand up and say they had enough?

2. It'll dip a few cents around tax day
but will be at least 2.89 by the end of the month. Easily over three bucks in hot spots.

4. Where?
Gasoline is already that high in some markets. Or do you mean when will $3.00 become the national average?

5. Gasoline should never be mentioned except as
"Republican Gas Prices", I revel in slipping this into conversation at the pump.

When I was gassing up today I saw a brand new Durango gassing up with a for sale $19,000 sign in the window.

Owners can't give 'em away.

This year.

I'm guessing it'll fluctuate up and down Near, but not crossing, $3.00 until the really warm weather hits here on the East Coast.

And so when is that cheap oil that we are supposed to be getting from Iraq actually going to get here? Or is it the Insurgents keeping it from us?

13. Call me an optimist, but I think the $3.00 baseline will hold off until
after the '06 "elections, and of course gas prices will be lowered prior to the '08 "elections" in order to make them easier to steal for the Busheviks and whoever the select to keep the throne warm between Emperors George and Jeb.

25. If I were a betting women, and it just so happens that I am, I'd bet on
5.00 a gallon before summer is finished.. Why? My SO and I get all of our gas for our personal use, and for our business from one guy.. (We try to spend all of our money locally at all cost.) We are pretty friendly with him.. Back when Katrina hit I kept saying that gas was going to hit 5.00, and he (our gas guy) said it wouldn't because he would get for warning of some sort if prices were going to go that high.. Anyway, my SO went into the station a few weeks (a month?) ago, and he said to my SO.. "Tell your women that she was right about 5.00 gas, but she was off by a year.." My SO asked for details, and he said that his distributer/ rep. had told him that gas was going to 5.00 a gallon by summer, and that he needed to figure out security measures for his station because they didn't know how badly people would react to the prices.. He suggested the guy fence the station, put bars on the windows, and several other security measures.. My gas guy asked him why gas was going to go that high, and the rep. told him that he didn't know why, but that it was going to happen, and that he should be ready for it..

21. I've been saying $3
by memorial day will be the last time I see under $3 in my life time. The cheap stuff here in fresno CA is @2.67 and we are burning the the cheap winter grade I am sure they will bring in the summer grade & $3 all at the same time.

24. You all are too optimistic about gas prices.
We are at $2.55 right now in my area. I expect it to hit $3.00 by 4/10 easily.

What's my prediction for highest it will reach all summer? $6.00 bank on it!
