How many Mexicans can dance on the head of a pin?
How many Mexicans can dance on the head of a pin? Only the angles know and for the rest of us the question is pointless. The first two men who moved north out of Africa beat the hell out of the third, calling him an immigrant. It didn’t stop the fourth and fifth guys though, they just kept on coming.

Like a fire in a forest men will rush from depravation to anything better and that progress of man can’t be stopped. The first two guys out of Africa probably built a fence. The world’s current population is a testament to its efficacy. In some icy hell an extinct people built a wall to stop a Glacier too. No record of their success exists. The world changes and people move and nothing, absolutely nothing, anyone does will stop them from migrating when they perceive there is a better life on the other side of whatever barrier they face.

Last night a few thousand people moved north onto this nation’s soil. It didn’t do much to my life. This morning’s Corn Flakes were as crispy as yesterday’s. Bosses around the country don’t like or dislike their flock more or less today than yesterday. Little Billy isn’t any better at math and little Suzy hasn’t quit looking at the boys in that new and different ways because a few thousand people made that perilous trek.

The few that made it last night join millions of others. Most of them are living meager lives , not sharing much in the American Dream. Still, these are people who definitely do not “Hate us for our freedoms”. Given the most degrading of jobs and paid niggardly sums to do work “Americans will not do” our new squatters begin the life of every immigrant tribe. Children will be born and the old will die, roots take hold and t he best and brightest move up and into full integration.

Now I have to decide how I feel about immigration into this country. Some would make the people coming from the south the third man out of Africa. I’m not one of them. A few good souls would greet them with relief at their safe passage, but like so many others I have not cared.

So what will it be, build another wall, another tall fence? No, in the cases of moving men, ice, and fire that has never worked. Should I go fight with the intruders and make them go back? Back to what I have to ask, in rejecting that argument. The only course of action, it seems to me, is to welcome our newfound neighbors and make room for them in our society as quickly as we can make accommodations. Its the only solution that allows both myself and my new neighbors the ability to focus our energies on productive activities. If that means amnesty, then I’m all for it. If that means a clear and accessable path towards full citizenship and that lets us get back to the business of national unification then I’m for that too.

2. I liked what you had to say,
but here's something a little more sinister!

Immigration and globalization...

Read this publication and recoil in horror as I did.

www.iie.com/publications/chapters_preview/331/5iie3284....

The IIE board includes David Rockefeller, Harvard President Larry Summers and long-time Rockefeller agents Paul Volcker and Pete Peterson. These guys are globalists (New World Order types) in case you didn't know.

This file is copy protected so I cannot cut and paste. What they more or less propose is integrating the US, Canada and Mexico. I heard a report on CNN that said they hope to accomplish this by 2010. They said there would be new governing bodies. First is the North American Commission to be appointed by government, but independent of government (you know...no oversight and probably more or less secret...like CIFIUS). These guys are the planners.

Then they propose making a group called the North American Parliamentary Group (NAPG) which would be comprised of legislators from all three countries. That sounds icky to me.

They also suggest a new currency, the "Amero". You guys will see...the dollar will collapse like it did in the late '70s. Fuel, gold, silver and other commodities will go through the roof in the next year. I suspect this new currency will be introduced to 'save the day'. Never mind that fiat currency is a way to steal wealth from the people who don't understand the system of money, wealth and finance (as the Rockefellars do).

Globalization is the same as the New World Order. Slowly but surely, they don't want individual countries. Once there's a world government, with today's technology, they can impose a world tyranny that will be hard to beat. I believe that's their aim, but they have to break America down first. They need to keep making us more poor and less educated. They have to reduce wages. They need to encourage Mexican immigration. You see, US citizens don't want to merge with Mexico, so in order to merge us, they're encouraging Mexicans to relocate!! Vincente Fox is doing exactly that (with the back door blessings of our power elite).

So, this isn't just about cheap labor and corporations. Its way way more insidious. Its about the undoing of America and taking away our sovereign status as an independent country. Canada has similarly been sold out (and with a little googling, you'll see many are unhappy about it). Heck, Quebec doesn't even want to be part of Canada, how are they going to cope with being part of the US and Mexico too!!

The new world order is real. I'm just not convinced they're devil worshipers (which is what the conspiracy web pages alledge).

4. Sorry, but that is idealistic and unrealistic.

Illegal immigration has put a TREMENDOUS toll on our social and healthcare systems. You cannot deny that. It's fact. Illegal immigration has also pushed down the wages of middle class American workers. This is also fact, because many people in fields such as construction and factory work have been literally locked out of their lifetime careers simply because American companies would rather hire cheaper, non-unionized labor comprised largely of illegal immigrants (e.g., 25% of our Agricultural industry is performed by undocumented workers!).

Not to mention the simple fact that as of yet nobody here has been able to address - IT'S ILLEGAL for immigrants to come across our borders undocumented, and, for so many LEGAL immigrants, it's a SLAP in the FACE for these illegals to be granted amnesty!

Why have we begun to say it's okay for people to break the laws of our country? Isn't that a bit inconsistent? And who gets to decide then what groups of people should go ahead and break the law and get away with it?

I simply cannot agree with your pie in the sky ignore reality approach, sorry.
