Here's a news clip from Reuters with the Author of "Jawbreaker" and what he has to tell about the hunt for Bin Laden:
Click here for story link.<<Jan. 4 - Bin Laden was in the cross heairs in 2001 as he sought refuge in the mountains.
The hunt for Osama Bin Laden in Afghanistan was led by a CIA operative named Gary Berntsen who in his book called Jawbreaker, details how close the US got to striking the Al Qaeda leader, but lack of military support helped Bin Laden escape.>>In the video, Gary Berntsen, the CIA operative on the ground in Dec 2001 says that he requested troops to help block Osama Bin Laden from escaping but the Pentagon/White House were too slow to respond to the window of opportunity. Gary goes on further to say that General Tommy Franks didn't know what he was talking about when later he claimed that there was never an opportunity to catch Osama Bin Laden.
Looks like that should be an interesting/informative read.
