DU Researchers...I have an interesting and challenging question.

We all know that Bush lives on executive orders and signing statements, in his quest as dictator-in-chief, but here is my question.

Knowing that these tactics are not unique to the presidency, just what is the number of executive orders and signing statememts that Bush has used, and, in terms of percentage, how much more has he used these tactics than recent past presidents? I know the number must be high.

1. Yesterday on DU: Bush, 200; all other Pres. combined, 70

And the article further detailed that when other presidents used the "signing statements" it was with laws which were vague ab initio. Bush on the other hand, used his letters to state his intent to ignore very precise sections of the legislation. I don't have the cite - you should be able to google and find this.
