1. Here's what's posted at the washington post
Edited on Fri Mar-24-06 01:49 PM by ralps
In the past 24 hours, we learned of allegations that Ben Domenech plagiarized material that appeared under his byline in various publications prior to washingtonpost.com contracting with him to write a blog that launched Tuesday.

An investigation into these allegations was ongoing, and in the interim, Domenech has resigned, effective immediately.

When we hired Domenech, we were not aware of any allegations that he had plagiarized any of his past writings. In any cases where allegations such as these are made, we will continue to investigate those charges thoroughly in order to maintain our journalistic integrity.

Plagiarism is perhaps the most serious offense that a writer can commit or be accused of. Washingtonpost.com will do everything in its power to verify that its news and opinion content is sourced completely and accurately at all times.

5. "This is nonsense up with which I will not put"
Was the reply of Winston Churchill when he was taken to task about ending a sentence with a preposition.

11. The only offense that's on a par with plagiarism
...is taking money from the folks you're reporting about. We can all breathe a sigh of relief that the conservative media doesn't commit that sin.

6. Hmpht......Makes you wonder if they checked the credentials of their
"stenophraphers" any more closely than they did Domenech's doesn't it.

Also, in the WaPo article by Brady he never mentions Dan Froomkin with credit...just talks about their "business model" for their online site.

I don't plan to check out anything of the WaPo's trash site except Froomkin, in the future.

8. Damn that was fast -
I was kind of hoping for week or two of Ben twisting in the wind.

So what no talent hack with a heart filled with hate for all things different from them will the post pick? Any guesses?

that he had plagiarized any of his past writings..."

Well, maybe that's because he wasn't REALLY hired--perhaps he'd been "recommended" for the job by the RNC, or the Bush White House itself!

Unfortunately, as with Jeff Gannon, we will hear a chorus of whining about how the lefty bloggers have "destroyed" yet another budding righty career just because he was a righty. Last I heard, though, Gannon was writing for a gay publication--with HIS qualifications and credentials???

15. Malkin came out against him though, "painfully" saying he had to go.
She took the obligatory swipe at the "moonbats" but said the proof was proof. Apparently he was her "editor" at her publisher?
