Wikipedia entry
Daily Kos (IPA: /koʊs/ in an American accent) is an American political weblog aimed at Democrats, liberals, and other people of far left or anti-american POV. Run by Markos Moulitsas Zúniga, (Kos from the last syllable of his first name, often mispronounced) a young United States Army veteran, it has an average weekday traffic of 619,000 visits<1>, and often reaches over 5 million unique visits in one week. It is arguably the most influential liberal weblog in the United States.

1. Did you alert them about this?
Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 10:37 PM by Warpy
It's far right loony slander, and Wikipedia needs to address it.

On edit: Somebody else beat me to editing that offensive phrase out by SECONDS. Good work, whoever you are.

Edited on Thu Mar-16-06 10:37 PM by CrownPrinceBandar
that seems a rather biased POV to remain in a supposedly objective Wiki.

17. Wiki's interface is pretty easy to use...
> I'm not wiki savvy and had no idea what to do.

Wiki's interface is pretty easy to use and for most
articles, you can edit "anonymously" without ever
creating a Wiki login. Your IP address will be
recorded in the "audit trail" of edits, but you
will still have all the editing ability of a
Wikipedian member.

And becoming a registered member is easy too;
Wiki doesn't even require an E-mail address.

9. I disagree
I've found a lot of their medical/technical stuff to be quite factual. I've also found their historical stuff to be factual. The editing feature makes sure that wingnut ranting doesn't last long, no matter which end of the political spectrum the wingnut hails from.

The essential part of consulting Wikipedia is following the hyperlinks. That's what will take you to the source(s) of whatever you're reading about.

15. Somebody needs a hug

I'd rather not "change it yourself". I was just hoping there would be somebody I could privately message and alert...and knows what they're doing! I'm still learning not to screw up the DU Research forum :silly:

Hacking into the DU Wiki seems to be a sport on one of those anti-DU conservative loser sites. Such a thread caught my eye on a routine Google search for something else.

18. Well...you could ask someone here to do it, if you
didn't want to do it yourself. I'm sure someone (including me!) would be glad to fix it :)

19. The whole point of a wiki
Edited on Fri Mar-17-06 09:28 AM by alcibiades_mystery
is self-governance. You don't have to contact an authority figure to make changes. Nobody "hacks into" anything, because the editing is open.

Now, if you don't want to change it yourself (for some reason I can't fathom), I suppose you'd want someone else to take up the slack for you. But this "who should I notify" shit is a symptom of our authoritarian society that, yes, maybe I need a hug, pisses me the fuck off. Just take responsibility for our collective information space and stop whining for Daddy, is what I think whenever I see it.
