RANT: Okay I have to say, Can't Stand AAR Mark Riley's Show
I find it un-listenable, flat out. I find it FAR to overproduced, FAR to prerecorded, and I think he wastes time of crap that has no bearing on anything at all.

I know that you can not be talking about issues all the time, but he just spends far to much time on crap. If he does spend time on something that is an issue, he spends it on the wrong point... He will ask “What is your opinion of X, call in” the issue is there is no disagreement on issue X, it is almost like, “The Bush administration has released a report showing that the sky is blue, what do you think?” I think the sky is blue and no one cares about that....

In short, I can’t take it, the first portion of AAR Mornings is a waste of time, I have explored my XM radio and the replay of Anderson Cooper 360 is more entertaining and more relevant than Mark’s Show.

Come on Mark, fix it you are a talented veteran Radio personality, you are phoning it in, and I can tell.

1. His show is waaaaaaaaaaay better than Springers though.
I turn to "Deep Tracks" while Jerry brings his side show to the air waves. I cannot stomach his "shtick" .

2. Yes!
Springer's show could be marketed by Big Pharma as a "sleep aid". :boring:

9. That is putting the bar on the floor though, isn't it?
Not quite a hurdle.

8. The most interesting thing about Mark Riley...
His inflection, sentence structure, and vocal delivery in general is exactly like Laura Flanders! Have you noticed? It is really amazing. One of them must have learned how to do radio from the other.

Has anyone ever seen the two of them together?

10. Riley, Springer, Al more and more....I think AAR has a death wish!
But I am devoted to Maddow and Malloy!

11. I think they're shooting for a "well rounded" lineup
balancing out the more ferocious (Malloy, Rhodes) with the witty (Seder, Maddow) and the more nice-guy innocuous (Springer, Riley). Anchoring all this is supposed to be the best-known name, of course, Al Franken.

I don't know if a more unified, rather than a more diverse, approach would draw more/more desireable listeners, but in the end, it's all about ad revenue.

I'm more concerned about losing Phoenix (and, potentially, Atlanta) than any one individual AAR show.
