My Tiny Town In Vermont Has Lost ANOTHER Soldier In Iraq
This is a tiny place, about 3,000 people in the entire township. This is the 2nd soldier killed in Iraq within the last 3 months. We lost a 3rd (actually he lived just over the line in another town) last year.
Christopher Merchant had four children between the ages of 8 and 14. He was married.

He died yesterday in Ramadi. Full body armor is no defense against a direct hit from an RPG He was 32 years old.

Christopher Merchant is the 22nd Vermont Guardsman to die in Iraq. Others, from our state, in the regular forces, have also lost their lives their.

Enormous burden for a small state. We have the highest per capita death toll in this obscene war.

My heart is heavy today.

Christopher Merchant :patriot:

How many more George, how many?

I am so sorry for your town's loss ..... put out an American flag,
light a candle, or go to the service. Show the family some love.

4. Terribly sad. Four children, 22nd Vermonter killed. Horrible.
How can Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and the rest live with themselves? Why aren't Americans outraged? Vermont and the rst of the country deserve better.

7. I hate them. Right now I just hate them.
7 children in this town have been left fatherless by this war. It's going to an awfully grim town meeting on Tuesday. More like a wake, than town meeting.

6. That is so sad- 4 children lose a dad who joined the Vermont Nat'l Guard
The Vermont Nat'l Guard or any other state's guard has no business being deployed in B* War of choice

He has broken so many things, countries, families, the Nat'l Guard system

Why doesn't someone ask a poll question"Would you cast your ballot for B* today?"
