Why do Republicans hate women?
We already know they hate America and are more than willing to burn the Constitution for their man Bush. But what's this desperate need to control women by controlling their bodies?

For me personally, the forced pregnancy after rape or incest really blows my gourd. Talk about inhuman! What can they be thinking?

Only one answer. They hate and want to punish women. What's the deal with that? And why are Republican women going along with this atrocity?

Just between you and me, I'm sick of being the target for these whack jobs, and I wish they'd move along to stick their nose in someone else's privacy. What a bunch of nosy, controlling busy-bodies! Since I'm a woman, they make me want to run away pointing at them and screaming "woman hater! woman hater!"

What chance do you think we have that the Supreme Court might actually support women's rights on this issue? Especially in cases of rape and incest? What kind of lunatic can't understand the necessity of letting a woman decide what should happen after a rape or incest?

these pinheads still blame Eve for Adam eating the fucking apple. She 'tempted' him. :eyes:

That's how they justify EVERYTHING they do to women. :grr:

3. Because neocons know if they treat women equally we might.....
....take over all their jobs - including the WH - and do a hell of a lot better job at it than they ever have.

I'm with you though, I'm tired of men telling me what the crap I can and can not do with MY BODY. I've always said that for every forced pregnancy one male should be required to have a vasectomy. Guess what? Abortion would instantly be legal on demand.

7. If men could get pregnant....
abortion clinics would be as common as gas stations.

Another thing, too...if pharmacists are denying women birth control pills why not deny men condoms? If we can't have our birth control, neither can men.

Make it equal, I say.

11. Why not deny men their penis, since that's the source of unwanted...
...pregnancies. Why enforce through women after the fact?

IMO, men wouldn't give a freak if they couldn't get a condom - why should THEY care if some woman gets pregnant? And no doubt they'll change the child support laws so they're not required to support the unwanted child...

But, men would CARE if their penis were removed to control unwanted pregnancies. How is that any more invasive than forced pregnancy?

Allito and Kennedy. Politicians in robes. Everybody knows what they are all about.

They say there is law; but when you people in there with an agenda, they make the law anything they want it to be.

I think the only good news in this situation is that individual states will have the right to allow abortion. Don't help you in S.D. however.

21. How about vasectomies
If men wanna force women to give birth,we women can DEMAND they get a vasectomy.

That way no fetuses die.Men have to step up and do their part for Jeee sus! Guys time get the ole vas deferens cut to save the fetuses! The women demand it..
After all men have sperm and overdone sex drives and sperm help create fetuses! If irresponsible, hypersexed power tripping men would just keep it in their pants and get some self control women wouldn't be getting knocked up...

And I know this post will offend men, and I say GOOD because men need to realize patriarchy is offensive. I think men in general need to get out of the self absorbed perspectives and realize forced birthers do this type of controlling shit to women all the time.Just as absurd it sounds to defensive men to be forced to get vasectomies because a woman demands it,,think on this FACT before you whine about your little ego being bruised..and that tired old feminazi phobia ..In America right NOW..WOMEN already are facing forced birth..for real.
And this control of others bodies it has to STOP.

I will accept no less than ABSOLUTE EQUALITY and absolute autonomyy over MY body.. for I am a human being.

12. Letter from Alito to Dobson
http://www.dailykos.com/storyonly/2006/3/1/182251/1258

"Dear Dr. Dobson,

This is just a short note to express my heartfelt thanks to you and the entire staff of Focus on the Family for your help and support in the past few challenging months. I would also greatly appreciate it if you would convey my appreciation to the good people from all parts of the country who wrote to tell me that they were praying for me and for my family during this period.

As I said when I spoke at my formal investiture at the White House last week, the prayers of so many people from around the country were a palpable and powerful force. As long as I serve on the Supreme Court, I will keep in mind the trust that has been placed in me.

I hope that we will have the opportunity to meet personally at some point in the future. In the meantime, my entire family and I hope that you and the Focus on the Family staff know how much we appreciate all that you have done.

Sincerely Yours,

Samuel Alito"

When people in the party in Texas were telling me NO abortions should be performed, even to save a woman's life, I knew they were bat sheet insane and I wanted no part of them.

There was a time when being a Republican was about middle-of-the-road politics, like sensible government spending and balancing the budget. Normal, rational things. They haven't always been those rightie whack job nut cases...

13. Because Eve ate of the fruit first and then did give it to Adam.
Really. This is what Paul says in the New Testament and the Republican fundies have pretty much gone along with the whole idea:

I Timothy 2:13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
I Timothy 2:14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.
I Timothy 2:15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

Yep, you read that right. Women shall be saved through CHILDBEARING. Hmmm, that sort of conflicts with the whole "believing in Jesus" thing, which in turn conflicts with the "doing good works" thing.

So, this is why men want to keep women barefoot and pregnant, no birth control and no abortion. And for those who don't really believe, it's certainly a convenient excuse.

This is Ladyhawk, your resident ex-fundy, with your tip of the day.

Until I was 18, I was Bible Bubble Girl. Seriously. I was raised in a fundy home, church and school with NO outside influences that weren't strictly monitored. As you can imagine, the whole thing fell apart pretty quickly once I was on the outside. Some people stay in the faith to keep from experiencing the pain of having their whole world view shattered. I'm not sure what was different about me.

Anyway, I'm still figuring it out. What a trip!

40. Same as the Eve thing. Original Sin stained us all.
Old primers used to use this for the letter A: "In Adam's fall, we sinned all."

So, basically, we're screwed from the get-go.

I love Dan Barker's song, "You Can't Win with Original Sin"

Here are the lyrics:

You can’t win.
You can’t win with original sin.
And it doesn’t even matter
How intelligent or kind
You may have been.
You just can’t win.
It was all over before it began.
You were doomed in the fall of man.
You can’t win.

I was dead.
I was dead before my life had begun.
I was dead
Because of something my
Great-great-great-great-great grandparents had done.
That’s no fun.
Adam and Eve didn’t do any wrong.
They were set up by god all along.
They couldn’t win.

I've been told
I can believe on Jesus Christ and be saved.
But first,
I must admit that I am totally depraved.
NO WAY!
Before you go pointing that finger of blame,
Just remember that Eve was framed.
She couldn't win.

The kind of god
Who's so insecure that he needs to send me to hell
Is the kind of god
Who'd get a kick out of damning the christians as well.
You never can tell.
It was all over before it began.
I was doomed in the fall of man,
But as a skeptic I must insist
Adam and Eve didn't really exist.
But neither does god then, for that matter
And until the day that old myth is shattered
We cannot win.

No, you just can't win.

-“Original Sin” by Dan Barker from Friendly Neighborhood Atheist

25. Not only do they hate us, but some of them want us dead...
When it comes to teen sex, all parents hope and pray that their children make wise choices. Children as young as 12 or 13 weigh decisions with consequences that could impact the rest of their lives in a dramatic way. At this point in the conversation our teenage children roll their eyes, but parents know the risks to be real.

Parental anxiety therefore is unavoidable, all the more so because they realize that the ultimate choices their teens make about sex are beyond their control. That begs a question: If a child violates the moral code that parents set, are those parents willing to put their child's life in mortal danger? Tragically, some Christians are willing to answer, "Yes."

A little-known debate is smoldering at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that may burst soon into a major fire. Two pharmaceutical companies - Merck and GlaxoSmithKline - have designed a cervical cancer vaccine. In clinical trials the Merck drug, Gardasil, is proving to be up to 100% effective in fighting the dominant strain of the virus causing cervical cancer. The pharmaceutical companies and a growing movement of public health advocates want all girls to be inoculated with the vaccine as they presently are for other high-risk viruses.

In that spirit, Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, told Fortune magazine that he would not allow his 13-year-old daughter to be inoculated. "It sends the wrong message," Perkins said. "Our concern is that this vaccine will be marketed to a segment of the population that should be getting a message about abstinence."

my mother and I got in a huge discussion about this. It took my oldest daughter becoming sexually active at 17 for her to realize that my providing her birth control wasn't giving her permission.

These people need to wake up and smell the goddamn coffee. They don't need permission to have sex. They're already doing it.

The best any parent can do is to get ahead of the curve, educate their son or daughter and trust them.

And why are Republican women going along with this atrocity?

Not all of them did. I read an excellent book some years ago (you could probably find it now on eBay or Amazon's used section - I think it's out of print) called The Republican War Against Women.

It was written by a woman who had been active in the GOP for years and documented her shock and disgust when Reagan let the crazies take over the party. It was really an agonizing read as she found the party she'd spent her life working for left almost completely unrecognizeable (her first hand account of the 1980 platform committee meetings are blood-curdling). The book, though, had a happy ending - she became a Democrat.

It's really a good starting point for those too young to remember what Reagan did to the Republican party. I highly recommend it.

when women started to burn bras, these fucking geeks lost all chance of getting lucky. They couldn't explain it, they couldn't understand it, but the bastards damn well knew that their time of being able to reproduce themselves was OVER. So they had to believe that Amurika was culturally going in the crapper, and sell the lie that things were better back when, especially in the 50s (yes, I'm talking to you, you miserable craptastic anti-semitic Jew-hating Jew, Michael "Savage" Wiener). Only by selling that tired pile of shit for the past 26 years straight did they build up enough idiots, and female idiots, who believed it to come close enough to getting elected that they could steal the elections.

I can't handicap the outcome of the SCOTUS. My guess is those miserable losers have no more spine than their handlers, and won't overturn Roe because too many of us want choice. But that's just a guess.

impure thoughts, which can "drive them from God". I suspect that similar blame lies behind the Taliban's view of women.

But that's just one explanation that I heard from a fundie coworker. I'm sure that there are many others.

47. Well, I'd like to "make" them think of something else besides...
...controlling women. Perhaps by knocking a few upside the head? Would that shift the brain cells enough from "crazy" into "neutral"?

56. cast iron frying pans
work remarkably well.

Grandpa once got out of line, and Grandma (all of 5'4") threatened to brain him with a cast iron frying pan. It apparently worked. He became a nice old geezer and helped raise me.

57. We make men have impure thoughts?
Well, I guess I should be subjugating the athletes (Olympic and other) due to the impure thoughts that I've been having. I guess fundie xtian men don't need to take responsibility for their thoughts, right?

46. I don't think they all do so
There are certain section of the GOP who do not hold women in high esteem. For instance, Fundamentalists and Evangelicals have issues with women due to original sin. (Christianity, BTW, is the only religion which shows woman in such a poor light although every religion has a story about the fall from grace/gaining knowledge.)

Other sections of the GOP fear women because our place is no longer just in the home, raising up good little Americans. (Many of the original colonists refused to trade with the tribes because women held the tradesmen position.)

Other sections of the GOP dislike women because we've discovered we are smart. Let's face it, many republicans only care about their own bottom line. A smart business woman then is a very threatening thing when her presence uproots a man's.

Finally, there is one section of the GOP whom I think adores women: corporate managers. What business owner wouldn't want employees willing to work for 70 cents on the dollar?

48. Good question
Half the voters in the U.S. are women, and a large portion of these are Republicans. Why do they vote against their self interests?

49. because they can entice men with the promise of patriarchy
it's a nice bennie to offer a working class stiff while you are shafting him financially. He can "own" his woman.

Patriarchy is on the rise.

60. It's the "naughty bits"
Republican men are too tempted and cannot control themselves.. They WANT the naughty bits, but then they feel guilty because jesus saw them enjoying the naughty bits too much.

They are mad the the "girls" for having the bits, and for teasing them with the bits, and at themselves for falling prey to their own lust:)

61. Are only men Republicans now?
It's not just that the Republican women are "going along" with this atrocity. They are as responsible and as heinous as the Republican men.
