Did Bush trade our ports for Bin Laden?
What's the one thing that could redeem Bush and the GOP in the eyes of the sheeple? Why is he so set on this deal going through?

Just look at today's headlines:

Bush Confident Bin Laden Will Be Captured

By TERENCE HUNT, AP White House Correspondent
20 minutes ago

KABUL, Afghanistan - President Bush, on an unannounced visit to Afghanistan, vowed Wednesday to stand by this emerging democracy despite a resurgence of violence, saying "the United States is not cut and run."

He also pledged that Osama bin Laden and other planners of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks would be caught despite a mostly futile five-year hunt.

"It's not a matter of if they're captured and brought to justice, it's when they're brought to justice," Bush said, standing side by side in the Afghan capital with President Hamid Karzai.

Bin Laden is believed to be hiding out somewhere along the mountainous Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

1. No. OBL is long dead. UAE is for access to the area and to have
the best arms/opium/money laundering deal in the world continue for the Bush Crime Family.

2. Pimpin' is what George does best
So it isn't out of the realm of possibilities that he's making an exchange for OBL. No doubt he thinks that would help his poll numbers.

I think Americans are beginning to realize this administration is all a show, carefully orchestrated for their viewing pleasure.

Que the fat lady, it's almost time for her to sing...

4. When things make no sense, it's natural to try to find an ...
answer that would explain them or make them make sense. But, I think that's been our mistake during this entire administration. If we look at thinks like rational, caring, human beings, we will never understand their motives. We've all been waiting to certain degrees for the day when they trot OBL out. Some believe the US government has always had him stashed away some place. I think they just can't find him and I don't think they ever will as long as * is around. After all, he owes him for helping him with the last election.

5. Good question...
...it would explain why they're so freaking adamant about this deal (thinking that their political capital would be regained upon the "capture" of bin Laden).

6. Bush knows where 'HE' is then
read between the lines - if it's not a question of capturing him it's a question of when he is being brought to justice. Bush knows where he is.

7. I think the real reason is continued military support in the Gulf
.. the United Arab Emirates, which owns Dubai Ports World, has been “a very, very solid partner in our workings in the Gulf,” Rumsfeld said at a news conference.

Rumsfeld was seconded by General Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who described U.S. military ties with the UAE as “superb.”

Pace said the United Arab Emirates receives U.S. aircraft carriers in its ports, allows U.S. forces to use its airfields and airspace, and provides logistics support for U.S. forces.

”They’ve got a world-class air-to-air training facility that they let U.S. use and cooperate with them in the training of our pilots,” he said.
