My Aunt's insurance company is asking for proof that it was raining at 9 pm that day. Is this an impossible question? C'mon DU'ers, I know I can count on you.

1. Local news stations...

they all keep back copies of their broadcasts...this could show the weather for that day...maybe even some video footage from on the street footage showing rain.

How about some of those tower cams? Wonder if they keep recordings...or a webcam of the area.

5. Listen, what happens at our area airport, which is only about 15 crow
miles from us, does NOT always indicate what happened at our physical location. We have had inches of snow, while the airport records a trace. Hell, we have had inchese of snow and 4 crow miles down the road they had NOTHING. Same thing with rain.

Try to find a local tower cam, maybe someone has a photo from that area on that day. You never know, maybe one of her neighbors actually had a birthday that day and had a video camera or camera outside.

Keep looking.

8. The National Climactic Data Center . . .
is part of the Department of Commerce. Contact them and get a certified copy of the weather report for that day, time and location. That's very good proof.

9. try the Cooperative Extension Service in Moreno Valley
Agricultural researchers maintain weather stations in every county and keep records for historical comparisons and modeling. It's highly likely the day you're looking for is in an online database somewhere.
