TV Presidents
Let's have a little fun here.

Let's pretend that the following fictional Presidents were all running against each other. Who would you vote for and why?

Candidate #1: Jed Bartlett (D - New Hampshire/The West Wing)
Candidate #2: David Palmer (D - Maryland/24)
Candidate #3: MacKenzie Allen (I - Connecticut/Commander in Chief)

That's all I got right now, but I think those are pretty good candidates.

2. BARTLETT
I've been a fan of "President" Bartlett for years. I hate to see him go. The last show is Sunday May 14th, a special two hour episode.

9. I haven't seen new West Wings in a while
I'm so busy, I just buy them on DVD and watch them on the weekends. I have seasons 1 - 5. How did they work in John Spencer's death into the story line? That was a shame, too. He was a good guy. I liked him...

11. I believe this last season
is a waste for NBC. Even Josh's character seems lost in the shuffle. I recently watched on Bravo, Leo's heart attack in the woods at Camp David. Broke my heart. Maybe they will tie up some loose ends on their Mother's Day send off. I think the show should be allowed to die.

How bout a show with Jed and Abigail as elder statesmen ala Bill and Hillary. Abbey for President in 08!!

14. Here's a great series finale for West Wing
After an hour of the usual drama, we see them talking about the exit polls starting to look good for Santos. The Dems start to celebrate. Next scene, lit darkly, same exit poll results are given to Vinick. Vinick calmly clears the room, saying he wants to be alone. He picks up the phone, waits, and then says, "Yeah, it's me...okay, go ahead and fix it". Next scene shows a secretary of state/polling official sitting in front of a Diebold machine. We then see the computer screen change the results. Fade to black.

15. The series was always good at mirroring current events
I'd also like to see a gratuitous shot of Donnatella Moss wrapped around a pole at a strip club while Will Bailey sits in the back and discovers he's a man. But I digress.

16. Well, I guess that would be a good ending too.
;)

Of course, if there were more scenes like Donna wrapped around a pole, the show might get a three year commitment.

4. David Palmer in a second.
Although I am more familiar with Bartlet's policy leanings, Palmer never misled the country about anything important (like Bartlet did about MS). Palmer also doesn't strike me as one to compromise his personal belief system, as Bartlet did with the terrorist assasination plot.

6. Palmer has integrity and is honest
I think he is great. I just don't know much about his policies but I like the man.

7. I concure, Palmer
Palmer strikes me as a take charge kinda guy. He isn't afraid to do what's right for the country.

5. Bartlett
He has a domestic and foreign policy. ALthough any of the above would be a great deal better than the current choice

8. Only Northeast and Mid-Atlantic candidates?
No one from the west, midwest or south?

What about this fictional president?
Candidate #4: George W. Bush (Horrible - Texas)

10. What do you want from me?
People only write for Presidents from that area. I mean, I don't think it's such a bad thing because I'm from Vermont, but if you can come up with any other fictional candidates (ones you didn't make up yourself or are currently in office) then let's hear them.
