Deadliest day in Iraq since elections marks end of truce

A suicide bomber killed more than 30 people at a funeral for the nephew of a leading Shia politician today as Iraq suffered its deadliest day since last month's parliamentary elections.

At least eight people were killed in a car bomb attacks in Baghdad and on a road just north of the capital gunmen ambushed a convoy of 60 fuel tankers, destroying 20 of them and disrupting efforst to ease fuel shortages. ~snip~
