Ronald Reagan's image on Mr. Rushmore? I have a better suggestion.
Adding Ronald Reagan's face to Mt. Rushmore isn't a new topic. Some politicians and pundits kicked the idea around about the time he left office, but nothing came of it. But don't underestimate the persistence or lunacy of the right wing.

This week, I got stuck at a party I really didn't want to attend, and I overheard a few wingnuts casually discussing what they could do to get Reagan's face on Rushmore. One was planning to post the idea on Free Republic and try to get people to write to their representatives about it. I doubt that anything will come of it, but you never know.

Anyhow, I have a better idea. Locating grass-covered septic system lids is occasionally difficult, so I suggest we make it easier by marking them with Ronald Reagan plaques.

Or, perhaps we should wait another three years. There would be a terrific market (not to mention poetic justice) for the likeness of a piece of human waste like George W. sitting atop a tank filled with human waste.

1. Until you can get it done professionally it might be funny for some
graffiti artists to play with them. I can just imaging it walking down the streets of NY and taking turns stomping on *

2. Septic system lids with Reagan's image is a terrific idea.
He was such a man of the people, you know. Lots of Americans never make it to Mt. Rushmore. But everybody knows someone who has a septic system. They could set up little shrines, with candles and flowers.

5. I am teaching my dog to crap turds which resemble Raygun
He is a very talented pup & is making real progress! I intend to dry, shrink wrap and carefully package said poop and vend it to RW freaks at say funerals and other events which attract RW garbage who obviously have plenty of spare cash to throw around courtesy of the booming republiCON economy.

7. It can't happen
There isn't any rock there they can carve now, it's a battle to keep the images there now. They have had to reinforce and reinforce, eventually the whole thing will slump off the mountain.
Putting st. ronnie's ugly mug there is a neocon fantasy, let it go in one ear and out the other.

14. Oh, that would be appropriate. Start carving St. Ronnie up there,
and the whole thing comes crumbling down.

8. Reagan should be put on US Treasury bills
Because we sell T-bills to incur debt.

It would be wholly appropriate to refer to our national deficit as "X trillions of Reagans".

10. Mt. Rushmore is in South Dakota.
Carve a giant bloody coat hanger in it.

And/or a young woman in chains.

Move over minorities, women are second class citizen #1 in South Dakota.

13. When we went to Coventry Vermont last summer...
To see Phish play a farewell gig, the conditions were deplorable. The rain had turned the entire venue into literally 6 inches of mud. To make a long story short, someone affixed a sign to a board in the middle of the venue where the mud was unbelievable "Ronald Reagan Memorial Swamp"

I'll see if I cannot dig up an image.

15. They could not make the son of a bitch's nose long enough for
Bu$more. I said several years ago that the correct national shrine for Ray-gun is this marvel. Back in my old stomping grounds of south central Missouri there is a federal camp ground named Lane Spring. The feds sometime back in the early ninetys put all new comfort stations in the campground replacing the old wooden one holers. I remember seeing one of the old structures pushed back in the weeds. it was overturned and overgrown. I thought the shit house would make a wonderful tribute to one of the worst presidents in our history. The Ronald Wilson Reagan Shithouse.

17. I Like The Two-Sided Stamp Idea...
One side is the face of Raygun...the other is the face of Nixon. Then, everytime I send out a letter, my problem is who to spit on.

Of course my preference would be for the booooosh-crashcart stamp!

This could be turned into an industry.

We could have customized septic tank lids with images such as Coulter, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Pat Robertson, Robert Novack, or anyone else you feel should be memorialized sitting above a pool of crap.

Any entrepreneur who wants to take this idea and manufacture them, be my guest.
