Best Argument in FAVOR of UAE Ports Deal!
"Why not? Some of those al-Qaeda people have probably done much more research on our ports than anybody else."

4. Yup, stinging!
But this could also be the best argument AGAINST the ports deal also!

2. Seriously, this deal has been in the works since November.
If this regime was politically COMPETENT they'd have used that time to explain why DPW should be allowed to run these ports - even if they just told GOP reps & senators.

But they did nothing. To bushites, this is just another business deal. They can't conceive of why anyone would be opposed to this. After all, it's being sold at a profit to people willing to pay.

Just another business deal - like the Bush family's blood feud with Saddam & Iraq, and their mutual admiration with the Saudi royal family, and the cross investments between them and the bin Laden family.

3. Why would they feel the need to explain to people when they haven't
in the past...they're arrogant little children who figure if they cream and kick long enough they'll get their way. Hey, it's worked for over 5 years now.

6. I think you totally have it pegged.
Money is the ABSOLUTE most important thing to these people. It's the only thing with any meaning to them. If one of their friends (or preferably, they themselves) is making money from the deal -- if there is money at all to be made -- then, they can not understand that there could be a problem. It's like they're standing there, staring at the people who would object on national security grounds and saying, "But ... there's money to be made!"

Oddly, in my home state, we're considering ... no, let me rephrase, -- the Repug governor wants to sell our toll road to an Australian firm. He can't understand why some people might protest the selling of a road to foreign interests because they're going to PAY us! I mean, hey, we're getting the money, so what's the problem? So, no matter what side of either issue you're on, I think the interesting thing is the attitude of the people in charge. It's the same sort of attitude. I really think that greed might be the defining characteristic of these dopes.

5. All our ports are belong to Bush! Are the Republicans just
figuring this out? Welcome to the Dictatorship, you fuck-heads! Bush doesn't need your permission to sell American ports or anything else! He is The Leader! He can do whatever he sees as fit and he can do no wrong! Welcome to the America you helped build, stupid Republicans! Seig Heil! Seig Heil! Seig Heil!
