A Simple List for the Democrats to WIN
E-mailed to the DNC

1. WIELD THE TRUTH. Say the elections were stolen because they WERE. Say that Bush & co are weak on national security because THEY ARE! Say that Bush & Co. LIED because they DID! No apologies. No backing down. Just say it - often, consistently, and always! You want the dems to be seen as strong instead of wimps - WIELD THE TRUTH.

2. STAND UP & DO WHAT IS RIGHT INSTEAD OF WHAT IS (OFTEN MISTAKENLY) VIEWED AS POPULAR: Why didn't the dems filibuster Alito? Or any of the other lower court judges that are unethical, ill-qualified, and corporate sponsored whores? Why didn't the dems take to the streets and yell from the top of their lungs when Bush TWICE stole the Presidential election? Lesson. Do what is right. It makes for good policy. It makes for respect. It shows what you stand for....DO THE RIGHT THING.

3. Create your OWN media. Yeah, the neo-cons have kid-napped the media. But, the dems have a huge, educated internet group. USE US. How about coming back to your state for educational town meetings? How about working with progressive groups to train volunteers to do educational teach-ins at town halls, colleges, libraries...And, while you are it - join Gore in his television endeavor and prop up Air America and other progressive media outlets!

4. YOU ARE RUBBER & I AM GLUE - WHATEVER BOUNCES OFF ME STICKS TO YOU! It has always amazed me how befuddled the dems become in the sites of Rove's spin! For example (and there are THOUSANDS of them)- Kerry is a wimp. Bush is macho. Yeah. That was a tough one. How about taking a picture of the chimp as a cheerleader of the internet. Then, have people pass it around - put up signs in the 'macho' red states. Can you imagine the talk in bars? Did you know Bush was a cheerleader? Replace the image of the 'tough' cowboy with a guy holding pom poms! Pretty tough to shake. And, IT IS NOT A LIE. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE DISHONEST - JUST BRUTALLY HONEST. Here's one for the current time, use it now. BUSH IS WEAK ON NATIONAL SECURITY. HE IS SELLING OUR NATION'S PORTS TO THE COUNTRY THAT PRODUCED 3/4th OF THE 9/11 TERRORISTS. BUSH IS SELLING OUR PORTS TO THE COUNTRY THAT HELPED FINANCED THE 9/11 TERRORISTS. Say that a few times, and see which way the winds blow.

5. ALWAYS CORRECT A MEDIA LIE. Take a cue from Howard Dean. Did you see him when Wolf Blitzer tried to say dems took Abramoff money just like Republicans? That was a lie. Dean told him it wasn't true - over and over and over and over again. By the time he was through - Wolfie looked like he was slapped in the face. And, when you are up there - how about pointing out the slime tactics they are using on you. When they change the topic - say THAT IS NOT RELATED - I KNOW IT IS A TERRIBLE SUBJECT FOR THE REPUBLICANS BUT THAT IS WHAT WE ARE DISCUSSING - then steer it right back to the subject. When they lie, (which they will...they ALWAYS lie) - say so! Their lies are predictable and easy. Be at the ready with a source and a quote. EASY. When they throw out back handed insults (such as Couric stating that people vote Republican because they don't want to be bombed) - tell them you are INSULTED. Tell them what they say is ridiculous and untrue. And, considering that over half the country is democratic, they should choose their words with more care.

This is a SHORT list. I am sure there are many more -

2. K&R. This is the kind of stuff I love to see on DU!
We all know what the problems are, and nothing Bush does should surprise us anymore. Time to focus on solutions is long overdue.
