If one of the six ports were to be attacked before '08
Edited on Sun Feb-19-06 09:27 PM by IDemo
Especially if it is revealed that the attack was facilitated by the sale of port authority to a company from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), would this not be the final railroad spike in the coffin of the present administration? Would it not also eliminate any chances the repubs may have had otherwise in the 2008 election? (Let's pretend for the purposes of this topic that our elections will be fair and transparent).

Such a scenario would quickly become recognized as a L/MIHOP (let-or-made it happen on purpose). The complicity of BushCo would be inarguable. It may matter not at all by that time whether the "happening" of a terrorist attack is by purposeful design, or due to careless disregard of global political realities by an ideology-driven administration.

But why should it take an(other) attack to wake up Americans? The hieroglyphs are painted on the wall in primary colors. The PrezIsn't has sworn to protect you against terrorism, but even when considering the gymnastics used to justify the Iraq War, the give-away of the control of America's ports to a nation that was used as a financial and operational base by some of the 9/11 hijackers strikes me as an incredibly clumsy accounting move by PNAC/Carlyle Group/BushCo.

1. My question and I haven't seen it addressed yet is...
Why the United Arab Emirates? Why not some other vendor?
Why would they choose this vendor knowing that 1-2 of the hijackers came from this country?

Besides the fact that it is ridiculous to even think about a foreign country running our ports but a Middle East Country runninig our ports..

Follow the money....are the Saudi's involved in this somehow.....what other links are there in this story that we don't know about..

Odd very odd...

<snip>

4. i don't think it will be that obvious.
the terrorist attack will be inland, not on the actual ports. the ports will be used to bring in whatever is needed for the terror act. when investigated, the investigation will end abruptly when the evidence points to one of the ports, similar to the anthrax investigation.

7. They didn't exactly "choose" this UAE company.
Why would they choose this vendor knowing that 1-2 of the hijackers came from this country?

My understanding is that the company that had been handling the ports (another foreign outfit, British this time) was sold to the UAE company (owned by the UAE government). What is at issue is the Bushies' failure to thwart this sale, or to choose another company once it took place.

3. There is an agreement to build some big project there (another
Bush folly, one presumes) for some sort of space project. (I think) On DU yesterday.

5. Thanks! Got it. I've been ill and have not updated for the last couple
of days. I've got your link now plus web archives from the last three nights, so I should be able to go back and get the Dubai/port sale threads.

I'll post a new thread when I finally update. Thanks for your help and for answering my question. :hi:

they would be able to cover it up, just like the "redacted 28 pages" from the 9/11 commission report (not to mention the stuff that the Commission flat out refused to investigate).

10. How about this: UAE is being set up for a sucker punch
give them control of the ports, have a "terrorist" attack, punish them by taking away their oil.

That wouldn't be out of character for the Bushies.
