This is how much America cares about its soldiers...
Sorry, but I just signed into my AOL account, and when the AOL News window popped up, there was a link to a story about 10 US troops dying in a helicopter crash--I clicked it, and was sent to the lead story of the morning--the Powerball winner story.

It was ridiculous.

1. No kidding
It's nice to see in an Administration where they keep cutting benefits and won't let us see even the flag-draped coffins, that the MSM keeps us the party line-they don't showe it, so it must not exist. Joy.

2. The story of the helicopter crash is a day old.
Powerball was late last night.

Just as in the military where you obey your last order first, in the media, you play your latest story first.

3. ah--i didn't check the news yesterday--i still think it's in poor taste--
if you click on a link to a story, it should take you to that story, not a far less important one...

4. That's because they're cannon fodder for politicians and generals.
The bodies are only valuable for the politicians to wring their hands over when preparing for the next round of slaughter with solemn looks and pithy phrases about "heroism" and "sacrifice". To the generals they are numbers in some entertaining game.

Or, as a Chinese general said centuries ago, "You don't use valuable steel to make nails, nor do you use good men to make soldiers."

5. They've just been declared dead. So, the story should jump up again. nt
