It was a lovefest. He had her on his show sometime this week (?) and I was surprised that he was just so agreeable with her. As if he wanted to prove that moderate Republicans are okay.

But the moderate Republican he decided to use as an example happens to be one who has been chastised by a judge for allowing people back into NYC's ground zero when there were obvious health problems. Colbert never mentioned it. Not even when she said she was pro-environmnent. So he left everyone with a false impression of that particular moderate Republican.

1. Was it a repeat?
Last night's show was, wondering if tonights was as well - did not watch it tonight so I can't say. But, if it was a repeat, I seen that show too. And thought the same thing.

I don't know what to make of Colbert. Assumingly, he was portrayed as a Democrat/Liberal/Independent type, but recently it no longer fits.

5. I think he does satire, but he's usually very clever.
With Lou Dobbs he showed that if we keep outsourcing jobs out of America, that we might even end the illegal alien problem because there wouldn't be any good jobs left in this country for them to risk coming here.

11. Well, Colbert does not follow the beat of any other drummer
and that's always a good thing.

2. Wasn't the interview taped before the decision was announced?
I think that was the situation, plus she was there to plug a book or some such.

And Colber(t) is not a political reporter, he is a comedian parodying such self-parodying clowns like O'Reilly and Scarborough and Hannity. People who think he (and John Stewart) are on some sort of crusade to bring down the right are missing the point.

They make fun of the right, because the right does so much to make fun of.

3. I have no idea if it was a repeat. I just remember thinking that he
was going easy on her. I realize Colbert is a satirist, and he did such a lovely job nailing Lou Dobbs, even Dobbs was tickled, but he gave Whitman a free ride. I expect him to be very subtle, but the zinger was missing in that show.

4. Lots of good people buy into Todd Whitman.
She's pure evil, but she sells herself as a moderate.
