The trouble with teflon...
Teflon's pretty neat stuff. An object coated with teflon is easy to keep clean. Nothing sticks to it, no matter how nasty it is.

But if you over-use the teflon, if it's continually subjected to heat and even the most gentle abrasions during the cleaning process, it starts to crack and peel, revealing that which was hidden underneath. And then things start to stick to it.

This administration is in the flaking teflon phase. It's held the pan to the fire too long and now those things that would never have stuck before are clinging to it like a bucket of leeches on a bloated corpse.

They trusted the teflon too much, and didn't read the safety warnings. Too much heat, for too long, will destroy this protective coating.

And it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of yahoos.

1. Also, cook with teflon at a high enough temperature, it emits a gas...
a gas that's instantly LETHAL to birds.

Just think of what it does to humans.

5. Only above 600°
Most people don't cook anything above 450° and usually much less.

3. I left a Teflon cookie sheet in the oven and all the Teflon bubbled up and
flaked off.

Scary.
