1. I don't watch the Olympics.
If I wanted to see hyperpatriotic bull for the US, I'll watch Fox News.

7. Ummm....it's in Italy
the opening ceremonies were way cool - when they did the dancers in different shapes of a skier...totally cool.

But I know what you mean - Brian Williams had to make snarky remarks about Iran when their athletes came out. They are bad, bad people - want the destruction of Israel. Of course no mention of why they elected a extremest fundie.

and way too little coverage on other countries

12. I thought that was cool too
the skier and the weblike thing with the dove. I loved the sun and moon ballons too. Could have done without the futuristic dance number and the car though ... ;)

16. I always watch CBC coverage instead of our own
They cover most of it LIVE and they don't just cover their own country, like we do.

10. Pretty much!
She has an uphill battle anyways, since she is running against an incumbant (Timmy the tool Pawlenty).

17. Swifting Veterans is really bad,
but women who've lost children should be off limits, regardless of party. :(

14. I just checked out their site.
While they seem to use soldiers on the homepage and I'm guessing the commercial (?), All of their press releases have to do with the Supreme Court nominees, killing the filibuster, and bad liberal dems.

Taking advantage of troops. There's morality for ya'. :puke:

18. We also have Brian Williams' commentary
dissing Iran and plugging Mongolia and politizing each nation as they walk in. :puke:

20. Yes
The asshole blatantly politicized the parade of athletes. On the other hand, it was good to see Susan Sarandon and Yoko Ono and to hear Peter Gabriel sing "Imagine".

5. Only Being Run In Minnesota
Also a big article in the St. Paul Pioneer Press(big rightwing rag). Some group called Progress for America Voter Fund out of DC is bankrolling the ad. I'd say it's all about the upcoming Senate race.

13. No, but I saw Yoko Ono's big push for peace!
And saying, "It's time for action". And the crowd cheered.
