Paula Zahn (CNN) upset about political comments at Loretta King's funeral
She was trashing the political commenter's, and mentioned they turned the funeral into the first step in the electoral campaign.

Then she showed the controversial words of Rev. Joseph Lowery about weapons of mass destruction....

and Paula Zahn literally said: "EEEEEWWWWW!!!!" right after the video clip.

What a disgusting tool!

63. He didn't WANT to go. He went because Clinton and Carter did.
He had to gather up daddy and go to Atlanta to try to get a little bit of that Martin Luther King magic to rub off on him.

But it didn't work because it was too little, too late. Lowery said it best when he said "Presidents and governors are here today to mourn and praise, but tomorrow morning will the words turn into deeds that meet needs?" In other words, talk is cheap, George.

Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton could speak of their personal relationships with the King family. George & Son could only speak in lofty platitudes (Son) and flippant humor (Poppy).

By the way, I loved it when Clinton referred to GHWB as "one of the frozen chosen". And Poppy asked for it with his comments comparing the New Birth church to his conservative Episcopal parish in Houston.

the last time I saw Dolores Fuller, she was pretty dazed from a recent car accident. Her husband was in a neck brace and she was under some pretty strong painkillers but she still chattered about "clambake," elvis tunes, and Ed Wood. Hope she's better these days.

28. Normally I would agree that politics at a funeral is in very poor taste
But, I expect that the people involved in the eulogies today knew Mrs. King well enough to know that she'd prefer her funeral to be a political occasion of protest against the rule of a man who is doing so much to hurt the poor right now, and so much to destroy the vision of equality and harmony that she and MLK believed we had in us as a nation to achieve.

37. This is such frigging bs. It was not politics! It was about what is Right!
One of the most firey commentaries was by Bernice King, the daughter of Corretta and Martin Luther King Jr. It seems that the media is avoiding her brilliant speech. It was against violence, against poverty, against discrimination, against war and militarism. It was a call to arms for people to mobilize and reawaken a movement to end all of what is wrong on our planet. To me this isn't politics. It has nothing to do with politics, as President Carter's mentioning the wiretapping and the Katrina victims wasn't politics, and Rev. Lowery's jab at Bush wasn't politics. Once again, it's about what is RIGHT!

boundless.

Reading and observing all the feedback regarding this funeral reminds me of the barbaric behavior of the Republicans at Paul Wellstone's funeral.

Remember the narcissistic, breathtakingly heartless, selfish tantrums they engaged in?

Then again, two of those that the right wing extremists are responsible for their murders are Paul Wellstone and Martin Luther King.

Wellstone's murder hasn't been proven like King's was (the trial in the 90's in Tennessee confirmed the conspiracy), but it has become clear that there was a cover-up of Wellstone's plane crash. Why the cover-up?

This is of course why they are trying to deflect attention from the lights of the truth these people were. What's worse is it is like they are shooting MLK all over again by having the audacity of grandstanding CORETTAS funeral.

All because of their own jealousy, envy and of course there never-ending fear and hatred.

48. I would say they can all kiss my ass..and coretta's too..
But that alone would be some blasphemy of what coretta and martin stood for..which appears to be above and beyond their comprehension. Let us get this straight...the civil rights movement and all that followed was political...and to give tribute to a woman who is the core of it all and not mention all the political shit she and her husband and her children and her race and all of went through just trying to speak the truth...and who cared enough to do it..would have been even a worse blastphamy...this would have been the worst insult to all that was the amazing person that she was to have chosen to be politically correct at her funeral. To debate this is obscene...and i personally feel obsene debating it.
