Bush Attempted to Sabotage U2 Mission -- Gulf of Tonkin II

On January 31, 2003...

Mr Bush told Mr Blair that the US was so worried about the failure to find hard evidence against Saddam that it thought of "flying U2 reconnaissance aircraft planes with fighter cover over Iraq, painted in UN colours". Mr Bush added: "If Saddam fired on them, he would be in breach ".

Then, on March 11, 2003...

“Mr Bush,” failing to tell Saddam Hussein that there would be more than one U2, simultaneously flew two missions over Iraq. “Mr Bush” then insisted that Iraq had attempted to intercept, if not fire upon, one of the U2s.

QUESTION: Why did “Mr Bush” forget to tell Saddam Hussein that there would be more than one U2 spy plane, as negotiated?

ANSWER: “Mr Bush” tried to bait Saddam Hussein into blowing one of our planes out of the sky, thus allowing the slaughter to begin.

Hussein did not bite.

1. Simply amazing

I remember at truthout there was a video of a young soldier named Tim Goodrich from Iraq Veterans against the war and he was telling how in 2003 when Bush was saying they had no military options on the table they were bombing Iraq trying to proke Hussein.

Iraq didn't have any means to shoot down even less intercept those planes. This is too stupid...

Besides Saddam didn't want to be invaded. He tried in to the last to avoid it by dealing with the US. This was so obvious for the majority of Europeans, that no matter how he did he would be invaded. Hence the opposition.

I think it mostly shows the criminal stupidity of the current administration. It fits with unarmoured Humvees, the lack of plan for Iraq after the intervention, the whole "heck of a job" syndrome. Who says say such a thing, when ones has at least a LITTLE grasp on reality ?
