I am sorry, I do not want Hillary to be the nom because I think that will lose us the presidency yet again.

She is smart, and would probably be okay, but most of the US is not gonna vote for her

IMHO

2. Agree 100%
I like Kerry. But he's really damaged goods at this point.

Hillary cannot be allowed to get the nomination unless we all want another Republican president.

It's that simple.

6. Kerry caved in to
feigned outrage, egged on by Hillary, about screwing up a punch line.
Presidents are made of sterner stuff.

10. We all basically agree- Gore at the top of the list, Hillary at the bottom
The middle is up for debate.

Personally, I think a Gore/Obama ticket is unstoppable.

And any ticket with Hillary insures another Republican president.

I *really* want a woman to become president. Soon. Hell, I'd become a campaign volunteer for Pelosi in a heartbeat. But Hillary is unelectable and is way too much of a weathervane. She doesn't seem to stand for anything, hasn't done anything in the Senate, and has hints of Lieberman in her positions with respect to the Middle East.

12. My list continues quite a ways down....
...any Democrat all the way down to my local School Board President before I'll vote for a republican or independent.

The political pendulum has to swing back toward the center. It may swing past center and into the left before I die, but that's OK too.

The wing-nuts have skewed the political spectrum so perversely since 9/11 that even Pat Buchanan appears to the left of the White House.
When GW looks to his right, all he sees are white hoods and armbands.

I already know who I'm voting for in '08... I could mail in my straight Dem ballot tomorrow. Maybe it'll be a different story in 2012.

As an afterthought, I want you to know that I respect your opinion and appreciate you bringing it to a forum of different views for debate, but you bet I'll vote for Pres Rodham if she's the name on the ticket.

13. Gore, Clark, Obama, Edwards, Kerry - not Hillary
The first 3 NEVER supported the IWR, the next 2 at least recognize they were wrong to vote YES and said "I was wrong" - Hillary has done neither.

He's always inspired me.

Okay, he's on my list too. I'd love him for VP.

16. Kerry, Gore, Clark, Dodd..is my order.
If you throw in a couple of VPs, I'd like to order up Barbara Boxer or Russ Feingold. How about Patrick Leahey? So many good ones to choose from, but I love John Kerry. He's my top pick. Al Gore is close, but my loyalty was won during the Alito filibuster. Kerry 2008!

I can't support anybody who favored the IWR or the invasion. I do think that Hillary would represent certain defeat.
