Screw Hillary and screw 2008
We still have another two years of President Dipshit. Our focus should still be undermining the creep at every turn, and if possible, removing his ass from office.

The stupid election is just about the least of my concerns right now.

17. Al Gore?
IMO, He requires a severe 2007 hurricane season to get people to listen to him. 2006 was a bust yet 'experts' predicted four major hurricanes making US landfall.

Sorry, the link I had to that prediction made in the post Katrina days seems to have vanished,in global warming thin air.

long story short, how about a race of only new faces, not reruns
wtf !

Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 09:57 PM by Raine
I'm focused on the future and getting in a Democrat in the coming election is all that will save this country, if it's not to late already.

EDIT: I don't want Hillary though cause she can't win, Obama can't win either. This country is too backward to elect either a black or a woman for along time to come.

15. Way'at Old Crusoe!
Yer one of the best in my book... and I read a LOT of books. ;)

When I was in Spain last week I was thinking about all my friends who like to read. I spent a good bit of my time in Madrid going from place to place, restaurant to restaurant, wherever the great writers like Lope de Vega, Quevedo, Cervantes, et al hung out... I wish I was still there drinking wine and eating tapas. :9

23. That was my first vacation since Katrina
Actually, since 2003. If it weren't for the fact that others paid for most of it I could not have gone. Back to bread and water for me... and a used book or two. :D

PS Like Hemingway, I met an old man by a bridge, but in Barcelona - not Amposta. ;)

7. I agree
I also feel there is no one president who can see or come close to solving all the problems we now have .

Thinking about 2008 is a joke , seems to be media hype more than anything else . Lets keep the world from blowing up now or we won't have a need to 2008 elections .

8. This country won't vote for a woman or a black
So Hillary and Obama won't make it. And the republicans will try their best to swifboat each and every democrat and bring them down. We will end up with a canadidate who is truly unwinable.

Kerry won't make it
Edwards won't make it
Kunich won't make it
Gore won't make it

We will probably get a governor who won't be able to make it.

9. Like it or not, the 2008 train is leaving the station.
The primaries are 13 months and a few weeks away and it really matters
whether America's choices for president are Hillary Clinton, John McCain
or Mitt Romney.

It's important to rein in Bush. It's also important that America doesn't
get four more years of the same after 2008.

ABH - been using that a lot. Did you hear Tweety on a call in this morning on MSNBC? Edwards is the front runner in Iowa now - he represents change and that's where my money is.

26. The Two Are NOT Mutually Exclusive
While I understand (I think) your point, I would just like to point out that the two things you mention ("undermining the creep at every turn and, if possible, removing his ass from office" and winning the 2008 election) are not mutually exclusive.

In fact, I would suggest that doing the first just might guarantee the second.

30. EXACTLY! Also.......
By focusing upon 2008 instead of the absolutely DIRE State of the Union. The Dems now appear to have THE EXACT SAME POWER LUST AS BUSH AND CHENEY. GREED AND ENY also come to mind. Bad news for Pelosi. America doesn't want dems to resist the temptation of the power of Impeachment. God, you can drop a ton of dems on her and she STILL doesn't get the picture! It's the insane power that this Republican White House has amassed that america wants to see the dems resist the tempation of and Pelosi is off to a poor start. She couldn't even resist the temptation to exempt her special interest to the minimum wage increase. Sux to be a Sunkist employee. Everyone is getting a raise but them.......and our troops. But anyway, The Dems need to do something to ensure America that there will still be a USA in 2008 before they even think about the elections that might happen then. Impeaching and imprisoning Bush would be a good start. That is no where near done. There is still mountains of work to be done repairing everything this moron broke. We are no where near a point to move forward because of the do nothing (R) Congress. We're actually gonna have to back track or just sail over the waterfall. Of course there's Bush at the helm yelling, Damn the torpedos full speed ahead! Boy you just can't accuse him of understanding the dangers ahead. But what would you expect from a guy that think she won a debate with "I don't understand....... I don't understand.......
I don't understand......." No Shit Sherlock!

27. Yeah, I hear ya - the election is the LEAST of my concerns as well.
I think we should be focusing our collective conscious on sending the Bush Family a clear message, and that message is - "Hey Bush, fuck you"!

29. I agree!
It makes me sick to see Dems trying to figure out how they can turn this bush mess into a 2008 WH win. Give it up! I'm a diehard dem. If the dems don't impeach and imprison Bush. I'm done with the democrat party. I'll start working to repeal the lame duck ammendment. So Bush can have a third term and I'll vote for him. If Bush's crimes aren't bad enough to make his impeachment and imprisonment the TOP PRIORITY of our country. Well then I guess it's really not that bad and he should get a third term. Quit thinking about 2008. It's not gonna happen. Bush will have bin laden detonate a dirty bomb in the USA and Bush will "indefinately extend his second term." Oh hell someone could set off a fire cracker and Bush would "indefinately extend his second term." They already have the plan sitting around gathering dust where they used to keep the patriot act. But once Bush is safely in prison. The White House doors will be wide open to any dem. But until then the dems might as well be pissing into a fan. At least then they will get a return on thier campaign dollars.
