Whoa. Anyone Listening To The Republican Rep Ron Paul On Cspan Defending Those Who Want The Troops
Edited on Thu Jan-18-07 07:08 PM by OPERATIONMINDCRIME
to come home?

Listening in the background, I would've sworn it was a Dem. It wasn't. He's totally going off on the concept of saying that those that want our troops out of harm's way don't support the troops, and is just going off on the disgraceful rhetoric thrown out by those who supported the war to begin with. He's actually doin a great job, even goin off on expanding to Iran and saying we should cut off all funds!

RINO I take it?

2. Ron Paul is more of a Libertarian.
He just happens to run under a Republic flag.

7. He actually was the Libertarian Party nominee in the '88 presidential election.
He dropped out of politics for awhile after that beating and then came back as a Republican.

6. That's what I thought but I was told
otherwise. Thanks for this. Word is his foreign policy thinking is ahead of his domestic agenda. I like him.

5. He's a libertarian
He actually was the Libertarian Party's nominee for President sometime back in the '80s. He ran for Congress under the Republican banner, though.

8. I'm pretty sure, he's always had a wild
Libertarian streak in him--not a thug or a Talibangelical like his cohorts in Texas.

9. He's been in the House's Out of Iraq group for quite a while
He and Jones, the Freedom Fries guy, joined with Kucinich and other dems to call for a withdrawal at least a year ago.

10. Folks, don't be fooled, ask anyone on the TX forum - Ron Paul is batshit insane!
Think Lyndon LaRouche and you are very close.
Ya know how you hear a few minutes of chit-chat from a LaRouche Loonie outside the post office and think they are a democratic soul before they unmask themself as a total nut? That's Ron Paul.

He is a man without a country in Texas. He opposes ALL government spending and wants to pull out of the UN. He opposes a federal income tax, the Federal Reserve and wants to return to the gold standard. He is anti-choice and anti-gay.

He sounds like a sane person when he talks about the Iraq War, but even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Ron Paul is whack.

11. I'm so happy to hear this. I'm sick of people being brainwashed to think they
are supposed to buy a yellow magnet and pray for the war to proceed.

12. The other day
he warned that Bush might fabricate an incident with Iran in order to justify war, reminding us that the Tonkin Gulf incident was a complete and total fabrication. Pretty good for a Republican.
