1. that is exactly what the U.S. does NOT need....
This obsession with "national security" is bordering on fascism already. We do not need a security state-- we need to debunk the fear mythos that's being used to dismantle American democracy. America does not need a "national security candidate."

2. I have a feeling that people will vote for whoever you don't vote for.

4. so do you find this obsession with "security" a good thing?
Or are you simply willing to exploit it for political advantage, much like the Bush administration has done for the last six years?

10. I find security to be a good thing, yes.

Now to advance this or that proposal in the name of security is another thing altogether, and is debatable on a case-by-case basis. But you did not mention any of those.

15. It's an issue that's important to most Americans. Bush has made this a dangerous world.

3. I tend to agree with you that we are obsessed with national security.
Thanks to the Bushites and their constant fear mongering and color coded charts. That said, if Wes Clark runs he would be a very exciting and interesting candidate.

6. He has a degree in and has taught economics.
He's got some very good ideas about access to higher education for those that want to go to college.

I think he could get us on track economically. And despite the "national security" mania, Mr. Clark is first and foremost a diplomat (IMO).

5. We'll get it though
Along with endless growth, a brighter future, and 30 year plans to end this and that.

What else do we vote for? We don't vote for the person who is going to make us feel as though we have less control over every second and aspect of life. The security state has been slowly coming down the road, and it will continue. Look at Britain, they're the most watched society in the Western world, if not the planet. We have an even bigger map to cover. We're getting the security state(as business cannot work without security, and work will make us free) no matter what anyone wants.

11. It's time to define NATIONAL SECURITY
I'm tired of the powers that be, using national security, to hide behind the crimes they commit.

12. Recently, in an interview, when asked if he was going to
to run to be the Democratic nominee for the Presidency, he made it clear he would decide within a couple of weeks, it looks like he has decided when he states, "WHEN (not if) I run I'll be the national security candidate".

14. CLARK / OBAMA 2008
It would be a hopeful and balanced ticket. Plus, I think both men come across as very trustworthy. It would be nice if we could start to trust the Pres and VP again after the years of lying!
