We need to get him on record about his involvement with this viper's nest of PNACers. As far as I'm concerned, he has lost all credibility when addressing this war on the basis of this affiliation alone.

1. PS. Remember Schumer is heavily involved in election politics for
the Dems nationally now.

2. I would think NY has many DUers
I posed the same question in the Conn. forum before the election from a DUer that was looking for questions to throw at Lieberman.

3. Your Threads On This Subject
Keep at it. There was a time people didn't know what a neo-con or PNACer was. Now everyone does. And they're under the mistaken impression that their influence has waned. This is a good drum to keep beating. Thanks.

5. Good Luck!
You might want to visti www.justicefornone and have them get out a "handbill" on the FDD and who they are and what they do. Too many people get snookered because the PNACers are smart enough to have people on all sides in all political parties on all sides of an issue but they all have only one objective in mind.

7. i disagree
that link that was posted had some what can be called progressive ideas on it. the overall group maybe neo-con in its ideas. but i think the reason schumer backs them is because of hte ideas they do support that are progressive.

6. look at what FDD does
1) exposing oil for food scandal

sounds like a pretty good idea. although now that sadaam is gone, dont know what good it will do

2) shutting down terrorist media.

i dont know enough about al-Manar to judge what kind of station it is.

3) support arab and muslim democracy activists.

that actually sounds like a fairly progressive thing. get democracy thru activism rather than the US military action

4) Fighting to secure basic rights and womens rights in iraq
another progressive cause

5) training campus anti terrorism advocates

ummm ok. this sounds like a neo-con talking point.

so far the count is 3 progressive ideas 1 neo-con 1 dont know enough to judge about

6) growing the pro-democracy policy community

if they are supporting dissents in oppressive regimes, that is a progressive idea, no?

7,8) producing films, programs, shaping media

neo-con flat out

9)winning war of ideas

a neo con talking point

lets go to the score card

progressive ideas 4
neocon ideas 4
unknown 1

although this is not a progressive group i think the progressive points (1,3,4,6) are the reasons why schumer supports the group. sometimes in politics you have to sleep with the devil in order to win the game. if schumer helps get the progressive points thru then more power to him.

one can be a progressive and not be 100% lock step with one another.

8. The idea that this constellation of individuals at the core of this
of this group represents anything other than progressive mayhem is delusional. They are neocons masquerading as partially progressive. The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. No, thank you. I cut this bunch, which has as its membership every neocon, rw ideologue (include Zell Miller and Lieberman in that group), and neocon suckup going, no slack. That Schumer and Brazile have associated themselves with FDD makes them highly suspect.
