British Find No Evidence Of Arms Traffic From Iran
Troops in Southeast Iraq Test U.S. Claim of Aid for Militias

By Ellen Knickmeyer
Washington Post Foreign Service
Wednesday, October 4, 2006; A21

ON THE IRAQ-IRAN BORDER -- Since late August, British commandos in the deserts of far southeastern Iraq have been testing one of the most serious charges leveled by the United States against Iran: that Iran is secretly supplying weapons, parts, funding and training for attacks on U.S.-led forces in Iraq.

A few hundred British troops living out of nothing more than their cut-down Land Rovers and light armored vehicles have taken to the desert in the start of what British officers said would be months of patrols aimed at finding the illicit weapons trafficking from Iran, or any sign of it.

There's just one thing.

"I suspect there's nothing out there," the commander, Lt. Col. David Labouchere, said last month, speaking at an overnight camp near the border. "And I intend to prove it."

Other senior British military leaders spoke as explicitly in interviews over the previous two months. Britain, whose forces have had responsibility for security in southeastern Iraq since the war began, has found nothing to support the Americans' contention that Iran is providing weapons and training in Iraq, several senior military officials said.

But the fucking propagandists won't stop repeating Iran's complicity. It's unbelievable the effect those headlines have on the average newspaper reader.

6. Facts haven't stopped Bush** from lying in the past
They aren't likely to stop him now. The question is how many people in this country are still listening to anything Dimson says anymore.

K&R for the British Forces.

Poindexter and Poppy, too, knew how to move arms to Iran.

9. They have all they need at home
Bushco made double d*mned sure that the insurgents had plenty of weapons by leaving captured ammunition dumps unguarded.
They don't need to go to Iran or Syria when their stores are scattered through every hidey hole in Iraq.

No thank you! I'll rely on my president to steer America to success! Iran must be stopped before they can give terrorists nuclear weapons! It's bad enough their embassy staff attacked us in Iraq! Iran must be stopped before it is to late!

18. Yes, we were always against it
Polls overwhemingly against the war from the beginning. Lots of demos and protests and petitions. Blair has stayed as long as he has, because the opposition was even worse. Fortunately, his own party have made him agree to go within a few months, and Gordon Brown seems at least less insane.

20. In KO's special comment last night he mentioned that reporters
were handed the line "if you knew what we know, but can't tell you" again in regard to Iran. Folks, remember a few days back the post about Ledeen? Remember the story about the Iranians being captured (in Baghdad?) by US forces and Maliki having them released? Ledeen supposedly claimed that one of those Iranians had "the wiring diagram" to Iraq. The article said that Ledeen said that they made sure bush knew about it.

So, Too-fuckin-stoopid-to-be-president is still listening to the same neocon PNAC rightwing mofo's that brought us this far. That's why we need to stop this moving forward crap and look backward and hold the people who did this accountable.

From the head of intel to Condi's #2 at State?

He had thought the intel showed Iran was not much of a threat?

Getting transferred for doing his job, it seems.
