9. But the operative word is "human"
and that disqualifies Coulter (at least until it is proven she is human).

2. In ten to twenty years
this isn't going to seem near as funny as it does now.

Mark my words.

7. I agree...
But keep in mind this technology will continue to advance with or without us...it'll just happen in places like China and North Korea.

And hybrids aren't nearly as outlandish an idea as some people seem to think they are.

8. Now, I'm with you there!
Who knows how they have kept Darth Ch*n*y alive!

HeeHee.

All kidding aside, I research the religious hardrighties - he was just playing to the base - getting that fear going of stem cell research and its ilk - so that the $ would keep flowing into the disgusting coffers of the American Family Association and Focus on the Family Action (and such).

6. actually...
There are created chimeras extant today...
One I can bring to mind right away are the nanny goats that have been given spider genes.
This allows them to produce spider-silk proteins in their milk.
Apparently goats can produce a much larger volume of these proteins than the original itsy-bitsy little spiders...
And IIRC there was firefly DNA put into tobacco plants, yielding glow-in-the-dark tobacco leaves.
I have NO IDEA what the premise for that was...except maybe "Because they could" or maybe "Let's try this and see what happens..."

10. There Goes Project Manticore
I guess the Pentagon will have to shut down Project Manticore (from "Dark Angel") now that * wants to ban chimeras. :D
