"The ground forces must accept longer tours for several years."
Edited on Tue Jan-09-07 12:29 PM by sparosnare
I have read this damn publication about 20 times, and each time I read it, and hear Fred Kagan's been on TV AGAIN - the angrier I become. I want everyone to read this and understand what he's proposing, what PNAC is proposing - and the fact that Bush is going to do it. There is no mention of withdrawal, just more indefinite war for what he calls "the decisive conflict of this age".

A disturbing component of the plan proposes discontinuing training Iraqi troops, and shifting to containment of the Iraqi population. They will clear out neighborhoods and kill indiscriminately (who is the enemy??) to stop the violence. What they will ask our troops to do is nothing short of murder.

Please read this entire publication. We must find a way to stop these maniacs.

2. Plenty of $$ for war. None available for taking care of people
The junta wants the troops to die off and never become Vets expecting medical care.

Yeah, I really do believe that. I have become THAT cynical watching these greedy bastards in action. There is NEVER enough money to take care of THE PEOPLE but they are willing to mortgage the nation for generations to pay for what THEY want now.

No child left behind and no troops left alive. They just want us off 'their America'.

5. No he hasn't.
He's a ruthless corporatist - this is all about $$$. I am sickened he wants to clear out entire neighborhoods, then once they're clear, go in and reconstruct. He talks about PEOPLE (our troops, Iraqis) as if they're expendable.

7. It becomes more and more undeniable each day
that the truth is the 'enemy' has become the Iraqi people or at least we are theirs. Just what do you call it when the people of a country over whelming ly want a foreign invader out of their country but the invader not only refuses to leave but is in fact about to add more troops?

8. And
If they follow those orders, that's exactly what they will be, murderers!!!!

As long as the U.S. military keeps making itself believe the myth perpetrated by this administration and its supporters, and follows the orders of the psychopath in the White House, they will become complicit in crimes against humanity.

How many innocents were murdered in Somalia by the military, who fired on suspected terrorists, with
little proof as to the identity of the intended targets?

How many civilians in Sadr City will be murdered by the US military so that Bush can get that oil for the US oil companies?

The US stands at the edge, the US military is getting ready to jump into the abyss that will put them in the same historical lists as the SS.

If you want to flame me go ahead, deep down inside most of you know that what I say is true.

The U.S. military is already on the road to becoming war criminals, and the U.S. military is the only force that can stop itself, but I don't think they will.

9. I'm not going to flame you, I am horrified at the proposal.
What gives us the right to send our troops into neighborhoods and clear them out?? I am sick.

10. It's the duty of the people to serve the empire.
It's too bad we've surrendered our democracy - too much of a bother. After all, as long as we can say we disagree, that's enough isn't it? :eyes:

Historically, "the people" have assumed control of their own governance by
(1) Revolution ... and the viable threat of revolution. (Funny how even kings do better when looking over their shoulders.)
(2) Direct participation in EVERY role of governance.
(3) Legislative leadership change ... either by a "vote of confidence" in a parliamentary system or impeachment in our system.
(4) Vote. Well, we vote for the "lesser of two evils." (And get evil.)

What do we have left??
