So are we out of Generals yet?
Just saw that Bush is appointing an Admiral in charge of the forces.
Isn't this odd? Has it ever been done?

1. CENTCOM is a Joint Command
composed of Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. The command is often rotated between the services. I see this as bush wanting to get the Navy more involved in his insanity.

3. CENTCOM
has a ton of brass; the Admiral will have plenty of "stars" from the other services to advise him. I'd like to thing that the Army Generals told bush, fuck you we are retiring. Get somebody else to carry on this nonsense.

5. They don't get to say that.......
Sunday my brother leaves for the middle east. He retired from the Navy as a Commander 10 years ago, they have re-activated him and he is leaving for a full year. If you are an officer the President owns your ass for life.

=We care a lot= about the army navy air force and marines
We care a lot about the NY, SF and LAPD

We care a lot about the wars you're fighting gee that looks like fun

Oh, it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it

For all you Faith No More fans out there. Kudos to Horse with No Name for grokking the shortage of brass. Note that outgoing general Abizaid speaks Arabic. Sounds like a damn important skill, Bush should have "begged" him to stay.

10. I guess this is the point I was trying to get at
We replace Generals with Admirals...with a current ground war.
Does this indicate that the *new* plan that Bush is concocting will have a naval flair to it?
Such as cutting and running from Iraq...but only to run to Iran.

11. Not necessarily. CinC's are really only
figureheads who report to the Joint Chiefs. This is not new, just something many people did not realize.
