Edited on Fri Jan-05-07 11:48 AM by NNN0LHI
Take my word on this one. We have all read the PNAC plan and knew what would be coming down the pike if the Republicans had held on to Congress. Shock and Awe city is what was coming.

Bush is not just insane. He is maniacal. If we can just hold our own here and win back the WH in a couple of years this country we all love is going to be on the path we want it on again.

We really dodged a bullet in November. I just can't explain this as well as I would like to, but I think you know what I mean?

Preventing any more wars during the next two years is not keeping our powder dry. It will be a goddamn miracle if it can be done.

1. Bush doesn't need another war
He already has the war without end and calls it the Global War on Terror. It's a never-ending, all-encompassing, un-declared act but gives him cover nonetheless.

2. Bush didn't write PNAC
But he has shown that he is crazy enough to listen to the advice of the people who did write it.

3. "If we can just hold our own"
That would seem to be the biggest problem, wouldn't it? Like you said the man is insane, what do insane people do when they feel that they are backed into a corner and have little or no options.

Will he try to keep power, will he be willing to use his loyal military to put down any dissent, heaven knows that they've been following all of his orders so far, without question! With a few exceptions of truly courageous troops who refuse to drink the kool-aid any more.

Don't misunderstand me, walking a patrol in An bar Province is a sign of bravery, but questioning the
reasons for this fiasco of a war and knowing that your questions will result in serving time in prison, and that you will be dishonored, that's true courage.

Two years is a long time, for a madman whose bubble started getting smaller on November 8th, and who truly thinks that he has the power to do as he pleases because so many who are traitors and evil, have told him so.

5. I agree but the next 2 years would have seemed much longer had the Rs kept Congress
We have a window of opportunity here to end this madness. The Dems just need to play their cards right and I think it can be done. And the Dems have restored my faith in them by doing so well in November. The first thing they had to do was figure out how to even win elections. Thats real important needless to say. I was beginning to have my doubts if they were capable to be honest. I am glad we have gotten past that barrier.

4. Agreed. I think they will try but I wonder if the Dems have looked
for all the loopholes so we can close them. I to heaved a sigh of relief in November and yesterday I watched the speeches on Cspan - we seem to be heading in the right direction so far.
