I'm assuming that's what will be done, but I haven't been by a federal building in the past week...

2. 30 days
Following is the Proclamation by the President re: the death of former President Ford and the lowering of flags to half staff for a period of 30 days, beginning Tues. Dec. 26, 2006. I believe the flags should be returned to full staff as of sunrise Fri. Jan. 26, 2007.

3. 30 days total, or one month - and it's at half mast
The flag shall be flown at half-staff thirty days from the death of the President or a former President.

4. Protocol is 30 days for a president's death
At half-mast, though, not 3/4 mast. At least, so far as I know - I've never heard of a 3/4 mast.

6. 3/4 mast sounds like someone trying to have it both ways
it's either flying high all the way up or half-way up for mourning. there is no in-between except to get from one to the other.

8. Yeah, but since he wasn't ever really...y'know...elected...
I thought maybe there was some kind of 3/4 mast provision rather than the standard 1/2 mast tradition.

Yes, I am speaking ill of the dead. Particularly when the dead was a conspirator in TWO of the biggest cover ups in US history.
