Help save Alaska's fisheries; stop the Pebble Mine
Please sign this petition, DUers. The proposed Pebble Mine in Western Alaska has the potential to become a much more serious ecological disaster to our state than even ANWR, and now we learn that the BLM is considering opening up 3.6 million more acres to mining leases in this very sensitive salmon and animal habitat. Please help us stop this.

2. Thanks, Robbien
I was so happy to see this petition pop up in my e-mail today. This proposed mine is very disturbing to me and many other Alaskans because of the potentially devastating effects it will have on the fishing and tourism industries in this very, very beautiful part of our state. Opposition to it here is much more intense than opposition to drilling in ANWR ... I'm thrilled to see national attention being drawn to this.
