"Red turns to Ford and asks what he really wants to (ask),'How the h*** could you pardon Nixon?!' "

Conservatives always say that people should be careful about the choices they make. Because of the pardon, Nixon was never put on trial. Nixon sat in his office and made the choice to spy on Democrats and impeded justice by covering it up.

Today Bush spoke at Ford's funeral and said that it was the right thing to do. This was just days after Bush said that there was finally justice for Saddam. There can never be justice if justice is harshly applied to one and not to another. Thus what Ford did was completely wrong. Of course making the wrong choice and then condemning others for making the wrong choice is the conservative way.

Although Ford was wrong, it is still clear that it was a difficult situation and he could be forgiven if it weren't for today's Republicans insisting he was right. Of course that's the choice Republicans always make--not admitting they're wrong when they obviously are wrong. That has become one of the worst things about Republicans and it harms America. Jerry Ford was wrong and did not admit that he was wrong. For that he should not be forgiven--if anything to encourage today's Republicans to admit when they are wrong.

Eulogies are not delivered under oath. Don't expect to hear the truth.
