1. Creepy. Like walking undead creepy.
I find it hard to believe that they can possibly be the same species as me. Do they not have a brain? Are they missing the 'creepy alert' signal that most of us seem to have? Ted Bundy creeps me out less than these guys.

Farenheit 9/11. The film is NOT pro-Jesus Camp. It's not a hit piece, but it shows how scary they are by just showing what they do and how they do it, and by letting them go on about how this is a war and they plan to take over the country.

This movie will go far toward waking people up to the danger posed by such fanatics.

8. While I respect the right of parents to teach their children as they wish...
...this is child abuse, flat out. No question.

These churches are employing cult tactics and brainwashing to anchor political messages in these children that have nothing to do with "the teachings of Jesus Christ." I've studied psychology, an i know exactly what they're doing. It's sick and immoral to do this to children. It's one thing if you are old enough to make conscious decisions about religion (or anything for that matter), but kids are not able to do this and to subject them to this kind of indoctrination is obscene.

Did you see the part where they had the kids praying for conservative judges to be elected? That's not religion. That's politics.

These are psyops, and I think these people should be jailed for fraud and abuse.

13. So what if they pray for certain judges....
you make it sound as if they're actually swaying the outcome or something. They might as well be making voodoo dolls of you and me. Big deal.

17. They ARE swinging outcomes! And judge positions are especially vulnerable!
They say there are 80 MILLION Evangelical Christians, or 25% of the population.

If they all decide to vote, they most certainly would sway any election.

When election time comes for judges, frequently fewer voters cast votes in those races. Less is generally known about the candidates for judges. The result is conservative judges that make decisions based on religious principles and "feelings" instead of fact and law.

This is terribly dangerous. I already watched one DUer get jailed by a Christian Coalition installed judge (funded by Jack Abramoff's money), and in issuing her verdict basically said, "I don't have exact proof, but I have a feeling" and sentenced him to a year in jail. Primary evidence? Printed out pages from his political website. She didn't like what he was saying, and decided to take him out of the game.

Do you really want to be judged by one of these fanatics deciding your fate based on your looks or what you say or how or if you believe in God? I certainly don't want them to be the ones who interpret our laws.

12. that's baaaaad, but how many sheep are going?
I don't think it's anything to be alarmed about. Once the kids get out into the real world, all but the mentally ill among them will stop believing most of that crap.

I just sat and watchd the entire thing. Thank you for the link.

Fortunately, I'm cynical enough to believe that as soon as the majority of those kids go out on their own they are going to drink, listen to 'inappropriate' music, and screw anything not tied down-- in general, be wilder than the average kid. I did feel horrible for the kids. The sermons seemed frightening, and I'm an adult.

A few random thoughts:
Jesus apparently has a strong preference for blonds
North Dakota is stuck in 1985
I can blame Satan next time I have problems with a PowerPoint presentation
Ted Haggert-- too funny
If you have sinned, you can always clean yourself with some bottled Ice Mountain water

20. Ted Haggard retired from youth leadership role in
New life Church because of sex scandal; paying for sex from a male prostitute. I guess Betty Fischer is out of the brain washing business for the present,at least. Apparently much public outcry over her tactics to create a juvenile army for Jesus Christ.

22. My daughters came in when I was watching it and said...
"What did those kids do wrong?" I said "What do you mean", and the youngest one said "they either did something very bad or thier parents hate them, if you sent me to a place where they tried to scare me and make me cry, I'd think you hated me" and then the other one said..."That's how we know mom loves us, we don't go to church!" (she was kidding of course, they know I love them for other reasons too;))

25. Once again, this is theft of copyrighted material......
There have been several threads like this linking to pirated copies of this and other movies on the web. Each time I alert them and post on the thread to let people knwow how offensive this practice is to people in the business of making documentaries.

I hear the same responses every time, and yes some artists do chose to post stuff on the web, yes there is an argument that that is a better business model than the current distribution methods, yes, it is good to have a free flow of information in our society, BUT and it is a big BUT, it is a massive struggle to make back an investment in making a documentary film.

We make these films because we believe someone has to give voice to the issues we address. To get our films made we mortgage our homes, we live on next to nothing and dump all of our time and money into a project, with the hope of eventually selling enough DVDs to get our money back (and on the rare occassion, actually make a living doing it). This is not a genre dominated by money grubbing media conglomerates. It is an industry built on the backs of people who risk everything (in many cases even their lives) to tell important stories.

If the people who made the film wanted you to watch it for free, they would post it on their website. When you watch pirated versions you are hurting the producer's plan for distribution (whether you agree with the distribution model or not).

Please respect documentary filmmakers and do not steal their content like is happening in this thread.
