What is so special about Rudi Giuliani?
Growing up in Jersey, I have never found Rudi Giuliani to be anything special. Even after the 9/11 disaster, the bitter taste of some of his previous decisions still linger in my mouth that of Amadu Diallo, Abner Louima, and Gracie Mansion.

While performing some research I found out he was once married to his second cousin.

<<snip>>
Giuliani's previous marriage had been annulled by the Catholic Church when he claimed he had not realized his first wife was his second cousin when they wed, allowing him to marry Ms Hanover, a match which had lasted 16 years.

People want this man to be president?

<<snip>>
One thing is for sure about Rudy Giuliani: no other local politician—not even Philadelphia’s infamous Frank Rizzo— has so boldly illustrated to the African American community the possibilities of an emergent police state.

1. Rudy was recognized nationally because of the media coverage
of 9/11. He was front and center, adnthe only one who seemed to be doing something. I don't mean the rescue crews, I mean any elected people. I don't recall any Senators, or even NY Reps being televised as much as Rudy was. Yes, he was only doing his job, butbecause so many of our elected officials just seem to occupy a seat and collect a pay check, I guess people were impressed.

I honestly doubt he;ll ever get the Pub nomination, but he's probably better than Browback, Romney, or Gingrich.

3. He stepped in where others should have and he actually
made himself look good after he was failing. It was because the people who should have stepped in like Bush and Co. were so lacking. He saw the opportunity and cashed in on it. But he's a dirtbag, I agree.

When Agnes the Blunt (my mother) learned that Giuliani was in London during the 7/7 attacks there, here comment was "If he comes to visit here, I want to know......I'm leaving for the duration."

8. Nothing. New York couldn't wait for him to leave before 911. Then he cashed in mightily.

9. Yep, Rudy's special
The guy who is on his third marriage. Who announced his divorce from Donna Hanover in a press gaggle, before he even had the decency to tell her. The guy who got kicked out of Gracie Mansion afterward and moved in with a gay couple and their toy dog (not really a big deal in NYC, but explain it to the less enlightened in this country). The guy who couldn't even make it to the general election to face the GOP's Satan incarnate, Hillary Clinton. The guy who presided over a police force that committed the Diallo travesty. Bernie Kerik's biggest supporter. And, drum roll please, the guy who built his own Nuclear Winter Palace high up in a skyscraper. In Lower Manhattan. Right across the street from the Twin Towers.

Yep, Rudy's one-of-a-kind.
