The last I heard there was about $9 billion missing? Where did it go? Of course, we know this bunch of Republicans are too ethical to steal any of that money for themselves? But, if it's missing, how could you trace it? How would we know if the RNC stole it or not?

1. Indirectly, sure. Halliburton and Custer Battles have some 'plaining
to do, and I'm hopeful Rep. Waxman might get to the bottom of this.

8. and that money would be a lot more than just a percentage of ...
the missing 9 billion. Every contractor over there is on a republican donors list and every one of them has made a kick-back to the GOP in one way or another.

2. Not missing
Unaccounted for. In other words, no receipts. In the early days payola cash flowed freely. Almost every ground commander had the ability to dispense funds as they saw fit.

Led to an accounting nightmare.

I seriously doubt any made it back to the States.

10. IIRC, the missing $8,800,000,000 was on pallets of $100 bills
loaded onto two Chinooks that went missing.

13. Oh, now you're on to something.
Every time Bush ever destroyed and abandoned a business he was involved in, he always managed to leave quite a bit wealthier than when he started.

3. I believe there is something in the Bible about
not stealing stuff - so of course our god-fearing neo-con fundie Repukes wouldn't dare steal the tax payers' money!

Would they?

;)

4. Treasure money > Defense Contractor > Lobby > Campaign Contribution
Not a tough sell at all. They cycle is too obvious

7. I don't know about the "missing money" but large amounts made to the RNC
.... by way of the "Lincoln Group." The L.G. was buying news in Iraq and
had gotten huge contracts from the D.O.D. after which it's members made
fat contributions to Repug causes.

Nice way to launder public money.

9. What? With Honest Jerry Bremer as Viceroy when the majority
of the cash disappeared?

I not only think it went to the RNC, I think it went into the pockets (albeit indirectly) of every upper level member of the bush** cabinet. And if there are any who didn't make a wad during that time, it's not like they didn't have the chance. Hell, if they didn't they were either stupid or not paying attention.

12. Let's assume that it did, until proven otherwise.
Wouldn't surprise me because their ideology, a kind of fundamentalism, includes an "ends justify the means" approach in which anything that keeps the righteous right in power is good for America.
