Design Iraq War Memorial - Request For Ideas

So maybe to get ahead of the curve, we can start brain-storming ideas for a new memorial to the people affected by shrub's war over Iraq.

The object for this memorial is to honor the millions killed, maimed and missing as a result of the invasion and occupation of the country, Iraq. The memorial does not have to be built in Washington D.C. but somehow the location does seem appropriate.

What are your design ideas?

1. A big Mt. Rushmore type monument with the faces of Bush, Cheney,
Rumsfeld, and Condi on it. The US dead and maimed can be inscribed on it. Individual statues of the four can also be available to spit upon.

3. Good question -- In addition to memorials to those killed
It should include large statutes of guys like Thomas Wheres Our Armor Wilson; Sgt Kevin Benderman; Lt. Cmdr. Charles Swift (the Navy lawyer who led the successful Supreme Court challenge to some abuses at Gitmo); and others who spoke up.

A request for an apology from bush -- and his remaining supporters -- would be nice too.

4. As long as it includes the Iraqis killed and maimed
Baghdad seems the much more appropriate place for it.

A black, austere granite wall with just the names of people who died inscribed. Of course, if we simply built war memorials with similar themes everytime we have another Vitnam-style conflict, I have a feeling we will have multiple walls all over the National Mall because I don't think the US government is trustworthy on the matter of war and peace. If anything, it has become a tool of oppression.

7. I humbly suggest that we wait until the war is over.
It seems inappropriate to think about this before the killing has actually finished and we know the full extent of the catastrophe we have created.

8. How does one evoke the ideas of illegality, genocide and rapacious greed?
Now THAT'S a true memorial to this bullshit, vain war.
