Bush is postponing his speech to the nation because...
Gates is planning on replacing General Pace as Joint Chiefs of Staff and Bush wants to bring in the military for their advice. If he brings in Pace and then Pace is replaced, then his plan looks even more illegitimate than it is already. So, his speech that was planned before Christmas to the American people has been temporarily postponed because Robert Gates wants a new person in charge of the military. It appears the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing with this new "plan"..

8. Doesn't GD allow for posts comprised of speculation and general DISCUSSION?
There are not links to all observation, speculation and educated theory.

Links required in LBN, not always mandatory here.

15. since some are generally the first to post to such speculative OPs
and the post is ALWAYS the same, it seems more than 'forgetting; ;)

Seems more like blatant attempts to stifle through intimidation and it smacks of attempted censorship of the free exchange of ideas.

Hey, my folks were musicians. I KNOW for a fact that some of the best jazz came from jam sessions and had nothing to do with ANYTHING on any written score ;)

Always happy to see ya, xultar. You get right down to the root.

13. Nope.
Not allowed anymore.
AND if someone just shares what they are told by someone else...then they are automatically liars and flamed accordingly.
I actually think your answer deserves it's very own post.

5. and . . .
he's waiting for the muckraking he's been doing with Iraqi politicians, to undermine Maliki and wedge Sadr, to take root.

He's still determined to proceed with Rumsfeld's old plan, with the old team still mostly in place. He doesn't seem to have the same closeness with Gates that he enjoyed with Rummy.

6. why doesn't he "pull a Napolean" and call himself king?
it would make it easier for those citizens out there who still don't get it. Chimpy rules- the rest are fools. Then maybe the whispers of revolt will change from picking a dem in 2008 to screams demanding change NOW.

don't make me laugh. He is not doing anything because not doing anything is his God-given strategery and eventually people will see he is right (and Dad is wrong) if he just keeps on doing it (like his Dad didn't)PERIOD!

You want a way forward? MAKE ME!!!
