that doesn't mean it will remain off the table "tomorrow." IMCPO, it would be absurd and ethically irresponsible for Dem leaders to announce, at this point in time, that impeachment is categorically going to happen.

Rather than screaming for impeachment, they have repeatedly stated that they will conduct comprehensive and public hearings about all the */Cheney outrages. I believe that once the results of those investigations come out, even Congressional Repubs will be screaming for impeachment. Obviously at that point impeachment will be on the table, ready to be carved up for our consumption. But probably long before then, the * criminals will have resigned. What most threatens them is having the public know what they did. Thorough investigations would make them vulnerable to criminal prosecution and massive, as in devastating, financial lawsuits. baby bush and Darth will do anything to avoid that catastrophe.

3. I think the scenario you outline is exactly right;
there's no need to call for impeachment imo, because once some horrific facts surface, regarding getting us into this war, war profiteering, etc., there will be hell to pay. I trust the facts will finally make Americans mad as hell; that's why they've been so studiously hidden, no?
