Dobson to stay silent on Romney's support for gays
Dobson to Stay Silent on Romney's Pro-Gay Comments
By Eric Kleefeld | bio

Mitt Romney may be under fire from social conservatives for some pro-gay-rights comments he made over 10 years ago, but one powerful leader of the religious right is opting to stay silent on Romney's transgression: James Dobson of Focus on the Family. Election Central has just spoken to a ministry representative for the organization who asked for anonymity, and this person told us that there will be no public statement forthcoming from either Dobson or his group regarding Romney. Some analysts have noted that Romney's comments could damage him in his quest to present himself as the true conservative alternative to Rudy Giuliani and John McCain. Still, Dobson's decision to stay silent on the issue — should it last — will give Romney one less thing to worry about.

6. No, no ... not at ALL. He was PRO-equal rights when it suited him politically.
He was ALWAYS anti-gay, IMO. You don't wake up one morning and decide that discrimination is suddenly cool---but you can revert to your essential character when you feel free to so do.

He was lying when he said that gays deserved equal treatment under the law, you see. He lied about that, and he lied about choice, simply and solely to get into the corner office on Beacon Hill.

Why would ANYONE in their right mind think he wouldn't lie again to get his way? The guy is a liar, plain and simple.

Oh, and an asswipe, too, but that's less relevant.

Also, I'm getting quite tired of his mormonism being brought up as a problem for him getting elected President. How about the fact that he has been a complete and utter failure and lies mercilessly???!! Those should weigh heavier than what ever religion his is. He's a pathetic failure.

2. Dobson would be all over this
if it were a Democrat. The hypocricy reeks. Mittens is the most conservative of the GOP frontrunners and his positions mirror what Focus on (Everyone Elses) Family wants.

3. Has dobson called for the prosecution of mary cheney
for crimes against a fetus? Or is that a conundrum for one who hates in the name of Jesus Christ and just loves the grand old party? And please tell me who is who's bitch? Is bush dobson's bitch or vice versa? mitt romney, another giant in the world of conservatism.

7. My Mom died when I was 11
I would have loved to have had two mommies. Conservatives are nasty whiny, hatefilled pigs.

11. That they are, BOSS.
And with all the children in the world without any parents or parents who aren't able to take care of them and must put them up for adoption, you'd think they'd be running out to save these poor souls.

8. Dobson worships power.
He is willing to ignore any kind of behavior so long as the person engaged in the behavior is willing to give him some degree of power.

10. You are absolutely right
therefore james dobson is not a christian. If he were a real christian people like me wouldn't find him an enemy of our constitution.

5. Dip shit GOPs are fighting last decade's fight
I see them still pitching battle on things like "values". Don't you think the voters have bigger concerns like--oh--The War in Iraq?

P.S.: Same goes for guns, nascar dads, abortion, and presidents who like having extra girlfriends.

13. Just shows that the fundies
so called 'beliefs' are politically motivated. They are for the Republican agenda and that is all, the issues that they whine about really mean nothing to them.
