Australian Government protecting Exclusive Brethren
"Australian Greens leader Bob Brown has accused the government of withholding information about its relationship with the Christian sect the Exclusive Brethren.

It was recently revealed that the Exclusive Brethren had been financing conservative election campaigns in Australia and overseas.

Senator Brown reminded parliament he placed questions about the government's relationship with the sect on notice over two months ago and was still waiting for a reply.

"When a question like that is put on notice there is thirty days to answer, it has now been sixty five," he told parliament."

For those who don't know, this same group funneled lots of money into the campaigns of Bush and Mel Martinez back in 2004.

EBs generally have eschewed the politics of secular society. They do not vote, even in countries which have compulsory voting, stating that they believe in the power of prayer in support of good government.

:wtf: So why are they funneling ca$h to the religious wrong around the world?

A committee formed by Taylor EBs in Florida raised $530,000 for the re-election of Bush and of United States Senator Mel Martinez of Florida. $377,262 of this amount came from a single donor, Bruce Hazell, from England.

Did I miss something? Did England become the 51st state? :sarcasm: If not, foreign camapign contributions are prohibited in this country, even from white Christians. :sarcasm: Remember what a stink the repukes raised over Johnny Chung? IOKIYAR (It's OK If You're A Republican), I guess.

edit: I do so know how to spell 'foreign'!
