GUANTANAMO BAY NAVAL BASE, Cuba - The U.S. military transferred the first group of Guantanamo Bay detainees on Thursday to a new maximum-security prison on the naval base configured to restrict contact among the prisoners and prevent attacks on guards.

The 178-cell prison, constructed beside another modern maximum-security facility built in 2004, will allow the base to phase out at least two of the older detention camps made of thick-gauge, chain-link metal, officials said.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20061207/ap_on_re_la_am_ca/guantanamo_new_prisonWhat happened to the world-wide push for Smirky to close Gitmo? Guess he's been building prisons there all along. No wonder he stalled on closing it. No wonder he wants to keep the chaos going. Sorry if this is an old story, I didn't know there were more prisons there just waitin' for Smirky to fill 'em.
