1. By all means,
protect our right to put cheap plastic made-in-China crap, paid for by taxpayers, in front of our government buildings.

At least they're starting to get wise -- those figures in the photo actually look Semitic.

2. Why don't they start and put Christ in their Church?
You know "love your brother", beatitudes, sermon on the mount...etc?

4. So Christmas is about Government?
News to me. Here I thought for Christians it was about their religion. Do we have some sort of law on the books that says they can't display their nativities in front of their churchs or homes?

6. Have you seen the car stickers?
They say "Keep Christ in Christmas". I didn't know it was a nationwide PR campaign, in cooperation with churches, until I saw this story.

I assume each of those plastic figures lights up as well.
Oops. I sound like a godless Liberal snob.

10. On a related topic, has anybody noticed more Nativity scenes ...
set up in front of private homes this year?

It seems like I'm noticing more Nativity scenes, rather than the usual reindeer, Santa, etc.

I live in a fundie/evangelical area, so I wouldn't be surpised if those churches have engaged in a concerted campaign to have their followers set up Nativity scenes as some sort of statement. There's even one set up at the big chain supermarket.

11. Could those be any tackier?
Maybe it is a self-parody? Was this from the Onion?

Assuming it is genuine, I must ask the question: When will the privileged, pandered-to-by-those-in-power majority culture catch a break? Those poor widdle Christians as victims? Sorry, I'm not buying it.

12. Why don't they encourage people
to put the scenes up at their homes and churches. While, I've seen a few "Put Christ Back in Christmas" lawn signs last year, I've seen none this year. Very few homes have a nativity scene. I have yet to see a church with one up around here.
