I am proud of my 4-year old Granddaughter
At her pre-school, they were making their Santa lists today.
Watching these kids...every brand name toy came out of their mouth of "what they wanted for Christmas".
When it was her turn, she said she wanted a dolly.
No brand name dolly...just a dolly.
I guess watching PBS and DVD's/tapes keeps her from getting bombarded with robots and all of the other brand name crap that the other kids wanted.
And yes--I actually already have her dolly.:)Got it for a steal at a thrift shop.

1. How sweet!
The other four year olds are already spouting off name brands? Gee, sometimes I really despise christmas time. It's gotten so materialistic. A holiday for retailers. Yipppeeee!!

5. Absolutely!
It is actually an original Crissy doll from 1969 in mint condition.
I was also able to get Mia (one of Velvet's friends) as well.
She really loves playing with Barbies but her little fingers have a hard time with the clothes...and these dolls have the hair and everything just a little bigger so that she can do it easier.

3. My 4 year old daughter
is the same way. My husband and I asked her what she wanted Santa to bring her for Christmas a few weeks ago because we wanted to get the shopping over with before the rush (also we are going to England for 2 weeks and won't be home until Christmas eve). She didn't know what to ask for. No brand names, no must haves. Finally she asked for a stuffed animal. She didn't even specify the type. And she asked to go to the train store with her daddy. She loves his train table in the basement and loves going with him to the train store. Letting her watch only PBS kids' shoes without all the ads for toys shows.

6. one of my favorite presents
as a child was the doll my mother made a new outfit for every year. She was a gifted seamstress and each Christmas was a delight.
