I always miss all the good stuff...
Did Poppy have another breakdown? What happened?
And please, could you just 'splain it or direct me to a transcript?
I'm on two tin cans, a string, bubble gum and a collar button dialup and the human life span isn't long enough for me to download the video...:P
Thanks! :yourock:

1. another
When you say another, do you mean in addition to the one that was ostensibly over Jeb?

I'd be willing to do some searches on it for you and post back here--just need a little more input.

I'm quite interested in this because I think the breakups are more about jr. than his brother.

2. Yes, I think it is about Jr too,,,,
Poppy knows that the family name is mud.
Knows how crazy his son is...
Knows how much damage has been done to the repugs.

Not sure poppy cares at all about the damage done
to the world and the US. Just that it has damaged
the family name and the party.

Gov. Bush's dad gets teary-eyed

At a leadership forum, the former president recalls with pride how his son handled defeat.

By JONI JAMES
Published December 5, 2006

TALLAHASSEE - Former President George Bush, visiting Florida in his son's final days as governor, broke into tears of pride Monday when he recalled how Jeb Bush handled an unsuccessful gubernatorial bid in 1994.

"He didn't whine about it," Bush said of his son, his voice beginning to crack. "And he didn't complain."

As he struggled to stop crying, he joked that his wife, Barbara, "will bawl me out for breaking up."

Jeb Bush then came to his father's side, receiving a light admonishment from his father.

"I can do this," he said, then added as his son threw an arm around him, "I love this guy."

The audience rose in extended applause.

Praising son Jeb, former President Bush breaks down
POSTED: 1:03 p.m. EST, December 5, 2006

TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AP) -- Former President George H.W. Bush broke down in tears as he cited his son, Gov. Jeb Bush, as an example of leadership.

Bush was addressing lawmakers, his son's top administrators, and state workers gathered in the House chamber Monday for the last of the governor's leadership forums.

"A true measure of a man is how you handle victory and how you handle defeat, so in '94 Floridians chose to rehire the governor. They took note of his worthy opponent, who showed with not only words but with actions what decency he had," Bush said before again sobbing.

"The moral of the story is to serve with honor, and your governor has served with honor," the former president said.

"I'm the emotional one," Bush said later. "I don't enjoy breaking up, but when you talk about somebody you love, when you get older, you do it more."
